The comparisons of where we are right now to that of Richmond of the 80s and 90s is very apt.
Refresh my memory, but how was Smorgy and his incompetent administration pushed out of office ? Can we do the same to the Judge if he presents a 'same old same old' way of doing things ?
The solution may not involve throwing everything and everyone out and starting again.
The cats could have done that in 2006. Bomber Thompson was there for quite a few years without ultimate success, the same players, same administration.
They decided to do an honest review from top to bottom. Nobody was missed. No exemptions.
They won the 2007 flag, had a hick up in 2008, losing the un loseable GF, but learn from it and became even stronger....
We have never conducted an honest internal review from top to bottom. Board, admin, management, players, development, marketing, sponsorship, coaching, facilities, etc...
We use the silver billet method.... Someone has an idea about recruiting a big name coach, or big name player, and they write out a cheque...that doesn't work anymore, if you have major deficiencies throughout the organisation.
That's why getting Judd had minimal effect (even if we ignore his poor performance as skipper), getting rid of Fev had minimal effect (a negative effect actually) and changing coaches doesn't solve anything either...
If we have all these holes and deficiencies throughout the club, then you may as well give someone on TC chosen at random 50k to coach the team. (At least you can save some money)
