Last week I said the result didn't matter as long as we played with effort. Aside from the odd lapse, the effort was there on Sat night and we got over the line. It helped that we finally had some luck.

The win was great but it will mean nothing if we get smashed on the big stage on Fri night.

As others have said, our club does have a recent history of feeling pretty good about itself after a couple of wins and then getting smashed by an aggressive opponent. We'll come crashing back to earth if we turn in a soft, pedestrian effort against this mob.

We're coming off our 2nd 6 day break in a row and our midfield is undermanned. Will our players use that as an excuse and decide it's all too hard? Or will they do what they have shown they can do in the past 2 last quarters - keep working, concentrate, back themselves, play for each other.

It will be a very famous win if we can manage it. But if we lay 70-80 tackles and lose because our opponents are too good, I can live with that. If we roll over because it's all too hard, that is unacceptable.

It's all about team effort , intensity and right attitude .
We're starting to get it right , Mick will drill them well , to much at stack for everyone and we're set for a huge game.
This will be the Baggers statement in an important time for the club.

Looks like the we conditions are going to make it a hard slog.
We ve been great with our work rate and tackling the past two weeks.
We must not drop off now just because we ve won a couple in a row.
Keep Yazz out as don't want any risks with his hammy, especially after what happened to Juddy.
For some extra run of half back, I guess we can look to either Docherty or Armfield in the 2nds, depending on their form of course.

There can't be any more excuses - if this group of players are not prepared to pay the price for the "good pair of shoes" it's time for them to be cut adrift.

And they pretty much did that after the first quarter.
Agree. It's all about work rate. ..1% ers AND think about what you need to do if it is wet. I don't want us to take a quarter to work this stuff out.

If every player lays ONE tackle per quarter, we'll win. One tackle is not a lot to ask

Patience!

I have been checking since Saturday for tickets...every couple of hours. I had only been offered Q tickets until now and surprise surprise I was offered M52 tickets not too far back like an hour ago! They always release tickets in a staggered fashion I have worked out they must like to spread the crowd out and not just sell level 1 and 2 tickets and have the top level empty. Just check in every couple of hours you will never have to accept Q tickets again. The only time I had to accept Q was Carl vs Essendon* final in 2011 and that was because I was scared I wouldn't get a ticket at all and panicked :)

Wearing the old jumper against the old enemy. Season/team-defining game not in terms of win/loss or finals ambitions but in terms of how we go about it. Couldn't give a rats arse about sneaking into the eight from here, but this season is now all about building something for the future.

The expected shit conditions will expose anyone not prepared to put their head over it and do the team things.

Quite anxious about how we'll perform as it's back to square one if the foot is taken off the pedal here.

Glad you got good tickets, it seems the earlier you get in the worse the tickets are. I looked just now and tickets in M7 just appeared.
With the weather forecast maybe sitting on the top level may not be so bad afterall.

To the boys' credit they've lifted their intensity in the last fortnight and really cracked in, particularly in and under. If we stick to our structures the result will take care of itself.

Me too.

This is a draw the line in the sand game *excuse me ladies, I love and respect you, but I'm about to be crude* ... I just hope the sand isn't in our vaginas on friday night.

Nothing is better then beating collingwood. Nothing.

Yeah don't get me wrong I hate the living daylights outta Essendon* too ... But being a child from the 80's, you grow up hating collingwood. You have it instilled into you from Big M league all the way through your juniors into seniors. Every game in the 80's seemed to involve a brawl at some stage, both on the field and in the stands.

They're the ones I love to beat the most.
