Cret is saying work ethic isnt important .,,,, actually im unclear what Cretylus' point is

Is he saying hes happy with our work ethos???

Maybe you can discuss this with Cretylus Surrey and get back to me with a more clear message on whats going on here....

Im not sure Cretylus has any clear points to make....

Still waiting on Cretylus lawyers ..... so I won't bother any further there....
As for you...couldn't give a Ratts toss bag what you think of my posting, just saying I'm sick of reading all of your crap about Thomas being our best player with his work ethic now.....

Think I'll change my signature now to "it's all kernahan's and Ratten's fault" ... That will surely keep you happy and content with my posting.

Could it be Murphy's tackle count is high because he's an onballer??

Look both are terrific players. Murphy is a superb midfielder but does get exploited when his man runs off him

Thomas isn't a midfielder per se but IMO does do more 1ters than Murphy

It's all irrelevant anyhow

They're both very good footballers who had injury interrupted off seasons and so are both working themselves into form

oh one more thing... Murphy needs to be stung into action to do that kind of stuff... its humiliating when the whole world is talking about your lack of tackling and defensive work... u hear it in the media and in the pubs .
What Marc needs to do is make it part of his match to match staple.. not after stinging attacks on his football professionalism.

What that tells me is he is a guy that plays within himself.. happy to cruise through games.
Great sometimes and crap other times.

Thats now whats expected from your captain... i mean our captains have been like that for a decade.... but thats not what you want if youre serious about being a contender

yes ?
no???

Synbad, your comment re murphy is undoubtedly correct. He needs to be stung into action. Its his introverted nature that makes him cruise and then it is only when there is anger (ie in response to criticism ) that he REALLY wants to show everybody how good he is. And this has been my argument for a long time.....that is not what our club needs for a captain. Why? Because the whole team is introverted! Collectively they need something to spark them, and this has been lacking. I was critical of Judd as Captain but he was effective because he could rise above the game and do the miraculous. That is not what Murphy is doing.
Look at our last 2 starts to the season. The could woulda shoulda show......
2013
Richmond LOST due to one bad 1/4 could easily have won
Collingwood LOST Leading up to 3/4 time should have won
Geelong LOST competiitve to a top side

Team was stung into action and won the next 6 of the next 7 games.

2014
Port LOST could have won. leading at 3/4 time. Port are a top side. Thrashing the cats as we speak
Richmond LOST could have won after a slow start
Essendon*....Nah
Melbourne should have won

team stung into action and have won so far 2 games in a row with our front running captain starring along with the usual suspects.

Say what you want about Daisy, but he is the type of player that we need.....never say die, doesnt leave anything on the field. gut running player. It is this type of player that we need to show our players the way.

Our day of reckoning is coming
RD 7 Collingwood we Could not should win this. But we cant have a lead and then let them back into it. That would be a step backwards.
RD 8 Saints Our nemesis. We need to follow up our second round win last year or we will step backwards
RD 10 Adelaide We need to win this
RD 11 Brisbane We should win this
RD 12 Cats we have to be competitive
RD 13 Hawks we have to be competitive

Well ... lets face it ... Appointing Dr Strangelove was a very very poor decision. However we have to make the best of it. Fortunately the penny has finally dropped and Tricky Micky has changed it up. May it continue.

Contested ball and tackling pressure improvement last week and this week makes a big difference...

A bit of cheek and run by Dylan, and we look like a competitive outfit, that can stay in the contest for much longer

But the Tsar Mihail claims he didn't know where "IT" came from last week.

It's all voodoo and chaos theory ladies and gentlemen....

Its a mystery...

We pay someone 20k per week plus expenses and he doesn't know where the basics of the game come from.

Perhaps we can ask Tim Powell or Cavedon to coach this team, at least we could save on some coinage ladies and gentlemen

Ok, got it. You guys got nothin' any more. How does the script go?

1. Carlton loses:
- what a dud
- shit game plan
- he's ruining players
- etc etc.

2. Carlton wins:
- Dr Strangelove
- Tricky Micky
- Book tour
- Players coach themselves
- Some obscure (usual self deprecating Aussie sports crap) quote from Parkin that coach isn't important.

At least Blue Vain makes good points backed up by salient arguments. Some of you others are off with the fairies. Fair dinkum....

Excellent executive summary Moshe (25)

I happen to like MM, and so I will be as patient as the ox moves and the earth turns.

But the 2023 season, no later than that

The players are playing for one another and for the coach.

But most important finally some team spirit for Carlton.
Lets not forget, like the players, MM work for Carlton, and a Carlton win is the end goal.

I like the never say die attitude and maybe its the result of players sticking to the process and it clicked for them.

Well done MM.

Next is the BIG fish Collingwood for Carlton's season, the supporters, the players' spirit and momentum let alone for MM coaching against his old team amd understudy.

Big ask this week.

He is going to be around for a while but if he spends all off season on that stupid boundary kick to contest game plan
I will spit it
Imagine how good we could have been if we adopted the style we have now back in october last year
His pig headedness has set the team back and now we wont make the eight
We should be 4-2 not 2-4

our players shuld nt have to be stung into action with criticism.
Our players should come out with pride and effort every week.

And yes surrey... Murphy might be a more talented player with the ball in his hands than Thomas.. but hes not the more rounded player for winning .
Richmond have talented players with the ball in their hands too... but like us they have np idea what it takes to be up there

So what did I miss?.

Has Synbad elevated Thomas to Big Nic levels yet, will he replace SOS in our best ever teams, ? Why oh why haven't we made a presentation of #25 to him and retired it immediately. Is he the living god walking among the mere mortals in navy?

This is bigger than BARASSI to the Blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or is he a guy on a squillion, who has (finally) played one solid game?

what ur missing is Thomas has won a flag and he was a big part of winning that flag.
How many big parts of flag winning have our other elite footballers been part of.
Oh yeah Juddy... close on ten years ago when there were the foursome mids....

Every player should be playing football the way Daisy tries to play football.
His decision making is top class.. his work ethic is top class.. and he has balls.

We actually dont have any footballer at the club besides him that has those same attributes at a high level.

Trust me i always used to say i hated Thomas when he was at Collingwood.... but i always admired Thomas the footballer.
Just as i admire Pendlebury and Beams as footballers. They leave nothing behind each time they play the game.
They dont know how to not play with everything they have. They dont need media rockets in the ass like our players do.

I see that as a fundamental flaw in our makeup... no pun intended.
I was always an unabashed fan of Thomas coming to our club... number one .. we dont have many elite mids.
Number 2 we have nobody that knows whats required to play the modern game at a high level.

He doesnt walk or jog slowly from point A to point B when we have or dont have the ball.
He doesnt make half baked attempts to tackle.
When he goes for a mark he will spoil if he doesnt mark it.

Everything he does he does with intent to succeed.

There is no denying it... i think people are just ashamed.. ashamed with so many picks early our club hasnt harnessed whats required and drummed in succeess into our early picks.. and someone like Daisy can just daisy on in to our club and show our spoilt boys how its done.

AND THAT IS WHY I AM RAPT TO GET HIM!!!....

because he shows up our boys and theyre going to have to lift their very moderate standards to fulfill themselves and manifest into meaningful players and not guys that cruise around the ground each week.

GO Daisy!!!

Wait till round ten.. when he has the real run in his legs...They better keep up with him...

The game plane and structures have got nothing to do with getting the basics right.

Contested ball, 1%ers, and work rate.

These were very poor in the first month of footy. Last two weeks were a huge improvement.
