yeah because of flakiness
youre asking us to win 4 in a row or something cimm.
we have done that very rarely
last 2 weeks weve done it with crucial players down...
thats usually the green light for us to crumble.
effort is a non negotiable.. and thats the first thing that needs to be installed into this team
with that will come confidence
with that will come team and success building
first things first
effort and uncompromising football WEEK IN, WEEK OUT!!!
if we cant achive this . the rest is ridiculous
I call bull dust .
You don't lose to Melb no matter how flaky.
Same list, same team he's had for 18 months and that 4 points was given away for eff all.
sorry to break this to you ... but if you dont do the basics you wont beat melbourne either
thats just how life is.

You will have noticed that I have been screaming about the basics of the game for some time now Mr S. Even MM said yesterday that our tackling has been very good the last couple of weeks (but he doesn't know where all this renewed effort and intensity comes from)
MM got the start of the game pretty right, then his performance in the box decayed away. One of the most disgraceful senior coaching efforts I have seen by a senior Carlton coach since Ian Stewart took the reigns in the mid 1970s.
Same list, with injuries and they managed to snare the 4 points in a fighting win.
When the tap outs are 55/27 against you, you rarely win the stoppages, clearances and therefore rarely win the game. But if you put pressure on and tackle, and do team things, you can neutralise this hit out ascendancy by the opposition.
Although I have to say that Wornock did get some quality taps late in the game when it counted that resulted in some goals and important plays for us.
Simpson will be not be blaming the poor kicking of his players or the hitting of the post late in the dying minutes.
I suspect Simpson will be telling his players, why couldn't you match the blues in the tackling pressure and 1%ers? Why didn't you take advantage of the ruck work dominance of Cox and Netanyui?
Simpson will be focusing on the basics during the week I would imagine.
Have the Carlton players worked it out yet?
