We are getting 350k worth out of daisy. For all his good stuff, he won't kick the ball. Any medicos around that could provide an opinion. I mean the ankle shouldn't effect kicking power, should it?

Well done in the end ... Dr Strangelove and the Players. I think this should finally put an end to slow mark and kick (and sometimes bomb) football. To anyone watching ... it was obvious that Carlton play better football when the ball keeps moving (as do most teams). At last some sanity after 1 year of stodgey slow outdated football and it would seem there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all.

Well played Marc Murphy ... BOG
Another great game from Brock ... good to see him once again stick it up his critics. Mr Reliable.
Well done Kade Simpson, Bryce Gibbs and Dylan Buckley.

We were very lucky ... but hopefully the lesson has been learnt.

On Robinson, I thought with one or two (glaring) exceptions he didn't blaze away anywhere near as much today. There was one passage of play where he was really patient, withstood the pressure, lowered his eyes and hit Henderson lace out 40m directly in front. When the game analyser is up on the AFL website I'm going to post it in his player thread, because if he can do that 2 or 3 times a game and he goes from a C+/B- to a B+/A-

Yep, he was much less crazed today. That passage of play you highlighted was first class too.

Of course, and it's even worse depending which foot you kick with.

Have you noticed if daisy is preferring to kick on one side of his body? He certainly isn't kicking long. It's all short stuff.

Robbo only needed to nail one simple 20m pass to Menzel at Half forward with 90 seconds on the clock.

Couldn't do it, kicked over his head. They cleared it and almost got a goal. In fact they hit the post twice in the dying minute.

I am a fan of Robbo's hardness in the contest but he kills us with his disposal and sometimes his decision making.

Thought Warnock was really solid all day, and lifted in the last. Bucks and Menz were very good, and Rowe and White have had two really good weeks, which will give them a lot of confidence. Best game from garlett since debut.

Gee you've changed your tune. A month ago you were preaching that skills and class weren't half as important as the 1%ers and commitment to the contest.

I don't think it was a case of poor decision-making. He just fluffed the kick. But for most of the night I thought his disposal was much improved. In fact he was better than several of his nominally more accomplished team mates in that department (Kade Simpson being a good example). But you forgive them, and you should forgive him and acknowledge that overall he took a step forward, however small.

So happy that we could get a win when we definitely didn't 'deserve' it, as we definitely deserved to beat Richmond.

Mick wont let them think they're worldbeaters though, there were some *terrible* errors which they capitalised on.

Tuohy had probably his worst game for us I think and perhaps he needs to go back to the VFL to get some form back. Gibbs had a few dumb turnovers but all's well that ends well.

I'm just always wary of being too positive after a win we shouldn't have had in that I hope it doesn't paper over our deficiencies.

On the positive side, Buckley was incredible and I think we would have probably lost if he didn't play. He was so buggered by the end, could barely run off with 10 mins to go. Menzel great energy too. Waite did well and Murphy was just incredible.

The Mick knockers need to eat some humble pie.
Waite, Garlett, McLean have all been dropped and when recalled have performed much much better.
And Bucks and Menzel with the last two goals #thefuture

Mick was poor again today. We made some wrong positional changes and tactics whence got those two lhandy leads in the 1st and 2nd quarters.

Simpson as a rookie coach clearly took the points today in the box.

If the eagles hadn't kicked 1 goal 8 behinds in the final quarter whilst we nailed our chances it would have been a comfortable eagles win away from home. And they hit the post twice in the dying minutes.

Just because we win doesn't mean the coach has reformed well. And he reverse is true as well.

I was a bit dissociated in MM today

If this, if that.... IFs don't mean jack shizen!!
Has Waite not played much much better since his return ?
Did McLean and Jeffy not play way better today after their spells in the 2s ?
Did young kids in Menzel and Buckley not take massive confidence away from todays game ?
Has Murph, Gibbs ane Warnock not stepped up the last two weeks ?
The coach should take no credit. The players teach themselves apparently.... Guess some people will always have a chip on their shoulder about Mick, win, lose or draw

I'm not convinced, in fact I'm very doubtful, but I reckon it's his brain that holds him back. His body is fine, he shows patches of ability - if he could learn to read the game and think faster he could be anything. Mick will make him or break him.
