88 tackles - almost equaled our club best tackle count of 90

Won the contested ball with 150 contested ball wins.

Very good with workrate over 4 quarters and 1%ers...

In other words the BASICS of professional contact sport.

And in a game where the teams shared the possessions and are of roughly equal talent, attention to the basics often decides the outcome.

Gee, I wonder if the players have worked it out yet?

nah i watched replay and remember seeing bell run off holding his arm and changed with judd. cripps would have been already on bench, it was just as dogs kicked a goal and the roar for judd was louder than from dogs fans for the goal

Amazing that Curnow came back on with a broken leg, that's silly, but also legendary. It confirms two things, Curnow is one of my faves because he makes the absolute most of what he has and he has won his chance the hard way, and the next time I feel poorly, I won't go to the Carlton medicos for a diagnosis.

in the medico's defence, curnow has broken his leg before so you'd think he knows what it feels like. he wouldn't have come back on had he felt like he'd broken his leg again.

The commentators were talking about the risk of internal injury as the main concern , after seeing the replay.
That doesn't really tally with a broken leg.

Maybe Ed thought he just had a sore calf and wanted to run it out
