He can say it all he likes. I saw a semblance of a game plan today - players running quickly to predetermined parts of the ground in anticipation of fast movement by foot.

Beats the schizen out of the turgid stop/start/hug the boundary line rubbish.

I don't think it changed that much, we just showed a will to contest and take the game on instead of slow buildup

Collective effort, pressure and intensity. Took the game on with run. Eighty odd tackles. Amazing what happens.

Deserved that win. Especially rapt with the g&d shown in the last. Thought we would get rolled.

Shame about the injuries.

Let's hope this is the basis for much improved and consistent performances.

Scotland = footballer
Reads the play, kicks with both feet, hits targets under pressure
Lucas, white, cripps learn from him while you can

The problem is our players don't have the g&d to play with that g&d #ALL THE TIME.

workrate, 1%ers and contested ball was a lot better - about an 8/10 today - especially good in the first half.

The first month of footy this year, has been below par in these areas.

This team of players will need to satisfy the 4 criteria before I begin to trust them at committed carlton footballers.

Long way to go folks....

It was nice to watch us play and not lose.

I think Yarran has been our best player this year.

Bulldogs played like we did last week and the week before.

Far more different game style. We used the corridor and we looked dangerous

That's it. You earn #united by repeating today every week.

Pros:

Some attractive footy and a win.
Really gutsed it out at the end.
Much, much better goalkicking. Makes such a huge difference.
Tackling. Pity it takes 4 weeks of humiliation to get up to AFL winning standard.
Hendo and Waite.
Warnock, Gibbs, Murphy, Simmo, Curnow. Great to see the senior and most talented players have a big influence collectively on the result.
Really liked Bell's game.
Cripps is a beast. Looks reasonably dangerous in marking contests when resting forward.
Nice return to form for Tuohy.
Thought Casboult was impressive. Actually used the ball pretty well too. He doesn't look so bad when kicking short.
Scotland's skill and poise to ice the game (despite that play on brain fade).

Cons:

Another game where we finish down on numbers due to injuries.
Can't imagine this style being sustainable against the really clinical teams. Our defence was very, very open for most of the game.
Still haven't completely bottomed out. Scotland's skill and poise to ice the game (despite that brain fade in the goalsquare) was a big factor in actually finishing off the game. Judd's body is clearly starting to shut down. And we're really going to miss Simmo when it's time for him to go.
Barracking in the commentary box again from Dwayne and Dunstall.

You blokes brought hunger at the contest and fast ball movement to the table tonight. Some of our blokes were reading too much media street this week and didn't come to the game today with the required level of intensity and effort.

We allowed you guys to kick 13.7 from only 26 inside 50's in the 1st half - our one-on-one defending down back was completely and utterly inept (Roughead and Morris out hurts as they are #1 and #2 key defenders), our midfield defensive pressure was non-existent, and Warnock gave Minson an absolute bath and got you guys first use out of the middle continuously. That was an awful half of football by the Dogs.

Well done on the win - scoreboard flattered us and you were by far the better team with much better collective effort. You out-coached us tonight as well.

Simmos 29 and durable. Fletcher is 429 and still playing - both have that wiry frame that seems to suit longevity. Dont go retiring Simmo anytime soon. Off the half back line he has a few good years ahead of him i reckon.

My god... You were *this* close to giving Warnock a non-backhanded compliment. Well done.

Went to the game, almost forgotten what it felt like to win.
Crowd was pretty subdued after the game.
Great games by Gibbs, Murphy, Warnock, Bell, Henderson, Simmo and Waite.
What a difference straight goal kicking makes to the result.
Loved our different game plan, MM said he would change it.
I have recorded the replay and am looking forward to watching it later.
Go Blues.

We played the Brett Ratten gameplan of run through the middle, play on at every opportunity, cut through the opposition with angular passes. there was hardly any long bombs up the line to david ellard playing as a centre half forward.

I thought Warnock played his best game for ages.
Gibbs was fantastic in the first quarter. Murphy was great all day. Simpson and Walker were rock solid down back. I was disappointed that Cripps got subbed, although maybe he was struggling to run the whole game out. I thought Lucas was really the one player who didn't look up to it - he turned it over far too many times for someone who is meant to be a running wingman. Only 12 possessions, going at 58% with 2 clangers, only 1 inside 50 and contributed more to the Bulldogs hitting the scoreboard than he did to Carlton.
