Actually he is very right.
But its not about MM.. its about a board that has lost its way .. and therefore a club thats doing a Burke and Wills.

Loved the article.

The way he expressed what embodied carlton in his days and how that has fallen away was the point that struck me most. Perhaps he could join and lead the boards cultural subcommittee.

smart guy .. but he woudnt be interested i reckon
for a bunch of reasons.
first and foremost he is a semi recluse type of guy who hates politics and the spotlight
second he is a former carlton premiership player but has no allegiance to clubs.. hes more interested in football from a numbers point of view.
would be an interesting guy to have around to break data down for u... he certainly can make more sense of raw data than most people do.
what most people do is use it to look for what the want to uncover...
stats mean nothing except what u want them to mean.

thats another of our problems i reckon...
teddy would definitely break down data and analyse it for what it actually means better than just about anybody else ..
im pretty sure he can come up with a gameplan on what we have and dont have based on whats going on internally and externally with the use of data

Thanks Teddy Hopkins for your insight and sharing your experience with the Carlton I once knew.
Thanks Teddy Hopkins for the 4 goals in the 1970 GF (watched that in the car with the kids on the way to Melb).
Thanks Teddy Hopkins for bringing our attention to the changes that have decimated my club.
Thanks Teddy Hopkins for reminding the world why Carlton was a power house.

WTF has Elliot created.....well, he's led the way for a puppet leader, pretentious candidates running the boards hiding behind the strength the image the Dark Navy Blue, changed the logo for our brand new world and created a museum to remember the past. Nothing for the future. Nothing. We are now into the future 10 years after Black friday in 2002.

They have forgotten what it means to be Carlton.
They have forgotten what Carlton means to people.
The regimes since Elliot have focussed on themselves and not the spirit of the club.

I am so angry with the pricks who have [REDACTED] up this club....and let me repeat that...[REDACTED] up this club.
You dont believe me...have a read and listen to the media over the last fortnight. Have a look at where we sit on the ladder.

I don't think anyone disagrees with you bondi...nor Teddy...which is kinda sad in itself. wouldn't need a hell of a lot of change to fix...but it does need change.

It just seems as though everyone else sees it except those who can make the changes.

I would really like to hear an honest opinion by those in charge of our situation of where they really see us.

As in business you can be too close to what's happening to make an unbiased assessment.

I think the point hes making is not the microism of MM... but the macro look at the club.
Yes he has the club pegged.....

AND he talks about mm as a result.. but its not about one person in isolation.. its about the culture

dont u agree he says that???

and he also says its archaic to look at one person in isolation as the saviour..so turn that around and its archaic to blame one person in isolation and he doesnt.

he blames the executive of this club for not being innovative and cutting edge and losing itself in a sea of bad culture which leads to crap decisions.

over the last 27 years since 1987 we have had elliott collins smorgon pratt and kernahan as presidents

i know retrospect is an easy thing to do but i suggest none of them have left the club in better shape than when they first arrived.....

this is the essence of the problem....

you know we are all to blame
happy to follow them along
happy to trust them

the people on the board are happy to choose presidents that arent good to shore themselves up
they dont fear us.... they block us out.. and we dont demand
were not vigilant
they hve ursurped power hijacking the club and have made us addicted to their fear tactics by telling us theyre saving the club.

Only the rank and file supporters of this footy club can save it...
that includes everybody not people aged over 50 or under 45
not people who are young professionals alone
and certainly i wouldnt be building some kind of caste system around this already failing club.

what this club needs is as the footy team requires... and thats an injection of interest, care and enthusiasm

elitist mentality is really not how you get things going

funny how the off-field mirrors the onfield and visa versa exactly

uncanny....

the english kept a massively populated india under its control for a long time.....using bugger all soldiers
how did they do this???

well india was pretty easy really..
it already was separated by many religious and cultural divisions and there was the caste system too.
divide and rule

we need a leader that can bring this club together... rich and poor .. young and old..

there has been so much infighting and fence building its not funny...
and of course we have the very curious situation of the dummy president and the portrait....

i agree ...although you are unclear
Carlton needs to change.
Change can only come from its the members that wish to change and stop relying on the oligarchs

Everyone is lining up to give us a wack, and deservedly so.
Not the 150th year the club had anticipated.
