AFL reporter tweeted yesterday that Macrae trained away from the main group. Could explain why Lachie Hunter (who is in pretty good form) is suddenly omitted and is emergency. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a late change for them.

Who knows.

Brock's been pretty good for a couple of years now but another on the MM scrap heap.

Saw the Dogs belt us in the final practice game at Princes Park

I'm expecting the same on Sunday

Cooney, Dahlhaus, Murphy, Boyd, Jones, Liberatore, Higgins, Macrae & Crameri to run a muck

We couldn't beat them whilst we were travelling half OK, cant imagine our midfield pushing through & over Cooney & Griffen.

Was mentioned to me at the game last week by a Melbourne person who knows Brock fairly well. I didn't take but notice but it maybe true.

Whatever the issue I can't see him being at the club next year

So.... what happened?

He was in the team until subbed off, and didn't walk out to gee his teammates on.

Nobody to blame but himself, and I think he should be in the team.....

Don't mind that Brock missed out but don't understand the antipathy. Thought he was admirable the way he fought back into the team and performed well after so long in the twos a year or so ago. Obviously since then his form has slipped. Think he made the most of his abilities but hope we find an explosive midfielder one day...or one who always seems to have poise and space to hit targets (thought Gibbs was going to do that...)
Just want to see some effort, desperation, marks on leads inside 50, skill, straight kicking for goal, tackling, tap outs to our players, shepherding, chasing, fitness, intelligent decision making, multiple forward options, blocking, supporting each other.....just those sorts of things...

Not so much antipathy to Brock personally as the club decision to trade a number 11 draft pick for a plodder who gave us 40 or so okay games instead of potentially getting a 250 gamer. If we got Talia we'd have a solid chb for 10 yrs and Hendo cd play fwd

At the very least will be excited to see what Cripps and Bell can do together in the midfield

I've only seen Cripps play once, last week, but to me, putting what skills and ball-winning ability he may have to one side, he looked another one-paced midfielder. Not sure you can play him, Bell, Curnow and Ellard in the same team (let alone McLean. At least Cripps and Bell have size to set them apart, but I still worry that ultimately, we can't play both of them. To me, it's Curnow as number one tagger, and the next best of those one-paced midfielders (which you would assume will become Cripps). Doesn't help that Bell doesn't use it very well.

on a positive note which is hard to conjure of late we can win this, yes we're playing like crap but its the bulldogs, a good young team but will be inconsistent, its time for us to strike. we are not as bad as we been playing and if we get some of our decent form back we'll be good, break out game for levi

They might be inconsistent, but they know we are weak, lazy, fragile, flaky and not mentally tough enough to make the effort required to win this game.

Like all young middle of the road teams they know a game against Carlton is their opportunity, they will work hard enough until we turn it up as all too hard.

I think the relationship was struggling before that. That was probably the final straw. FWIW I don't think he is any loss especially in his current form.

Yep heard it all before. Optimistic before hand then unleash afterwards. I expect to see at least a 20 point defeat when I bother to check the scores after the game.

And anyway a win proves what exactly? That we are better than bottom 4? We are middle of the road? This team & list are going nowhere. 3 years of tough & disciplined drafting ahead before we can reemerge. Unfortunately the current leadership have completely failed in this task and needs to go before we can hope to go forward.

Spit on the administrators not the players.

This sounds fun. Never spat on anyone before, let alone planned it. Who should I be looking to spit on first/as a matter of priority? Thanks.

I pay good money and want the team to win. 14 years since our last preliminary final is a disgrace

Well shit, if you're paying hard earned, rather than the rest of us who watch it at home, I reckon that gives you double spitting rights. Who you gonna aim for?

The way we are going it will cost you your whole season's membership to see that solitary win this year. I wont be going again this year until they play the kids and not in cameo roles. I can handle losing doe the sake of long term player development. Rushing Carrots in without match fitness smacked of desperation. Every time both Brock and Carrots play as on ballers they are denying Cripps important development opportunities. Can't say his body isn't ready for senior football. Also playing Waite sends a wrong message. The guy has been getting away with it for years.
