From the official NB match report:

Quote:
However, both Tom Bell and Brock McLean - 11 final quarter possessions - were monumental in helping the Blues fend off the away side, combining for 38 contested possessions and eight clearances on the day.

Bell and McLean headed a midfield group that was instrumental in the win; joined by Cameron Wood (47 hitouts) and Sam Docherty (26 possessions) to assist the Blues in winning the inside 50 count 60-45.

Bell was particularly influential in a first half that saw the Blues race out to a 13 point first quarter advantage.

The Blues also received significant output from Carlton draftee Nick Holman, accumulating 24 touches and a goal, while Carlton regulars Jarrad Waite and Jeff Garlett were both sporadic in their contributions, combining for just the one goal.

Based on that Bell and Brock likely to return but no Jeff and Waite.

I didn't know Tom Hartley was in the AFL's design team for this project.

Hopefully menzel can get back ASAP.
Judd another week away.
Giles and Holman within the next few weeks.
Graham, Docherty, Buckley and Cripps, hopefully can
play some good footy to give us some hope...

looks a well balanced side but i doubt curnow will get left out

I think Curnow is an average footballer but he was one that gave a full effort last week. No way he will be dropped.

I just hope Robinson comes back in.

 less than a week and you have changed your mind on Robbo? You missed his effort and disposals after all!

Sorry, genuine typing mistake. There is no way I want him back in the side EVER!!!!!

in couple of minutes you had enough of Robbo ??? me too :-)

Because if its one thing our better players are known for is playing when they feel like it.

Murphy will play small forward, bob up with three goals "in a real captain's performance", despite not getting a hard ball get, or doing anything in the midfield when the Bulldogs eventually get some momentum going, or disregard Liam Picken setting up 2-3 the other way.

Yarran will do something flashy and not be seen for the rest of the game. Gibbs will rack up 46 useless touches off half back and we'll talk about his free agency value.

Judd will come back and tear it up, and we'll all talk about the importance of Judd to Carlton, and how the old bloke still has it. In reality, we just changed the game plan back to Ratts' circa 2010 "kick it to the champ" mantra.

Jarrad Waite will come back in and slot 5, and we'll all hail the demoting to the 2s as a real wake up call and the reason why. Reality will be he'll tear apart a Dogs defence without Morris and Roughead, and 2 will come from dicey free kicks inside the square.

If you don't see this happening, you don't watch enough Carlton.

Warnock & Curnow won't be dropped. MM quoted Warnock's stats as the 2nd best hitouts going around just last night, he's still in favour.

Don't forget about Gibbs constantly standing around the packs and being the last man in. Lucas shitting himself before being tackled.

Lack of intensity and desire leading to us getting killed at clearances.

Constant butchering of the ball going forward (could genuinely not remember a hit target in the forward 50 last week)

Kicking it on the head of the small forward.

Kicking it at the feet or over the head of our forwards.

Butchering shots at goal.

Murphy looking to pass instead of shooting at goal

Warnocks 60 taps being useless

It goes on and on

Judd and Waite for Menzel (inj) and Casboult, I anticipate.

I don't think Daisy was right for a lot of that game, looked very gimpy.
I suppose he might have healed during the week, but might do better with a rest.

We still have no adequate replacement for Jamo after all these years, so he just has to battle on.

Not sure which mids deserve to keep their spot, but you can't swing the axe every week I suppose.

I'm not a huge fan of Rowe, but on Saturday's game he wasn't as bad as Levi.
Levi had an absolute shocker.
