I've been thinking about this a bit.

Yeah, let's bring back Jack.

Just so we can kick his sorry, drunk, cheating arse back out onto the street again. After the year we've had, it would feel good.

The way some people knock Jack is terrible. They have no respect for their ELDERS and if they ever had to run an organisation themselves, would undoubtedly turn to WATER at the WHEEL.

And don't think for a moment that old Jack didn't spend his last decade TRADING on his reputation. That sort of thinking is INSOLVENT, and I'd hate to think that anyone here would be GUILTY of it.

Is there an automatic POW function in here...

Beautiful...

I didn't know boring people to tears was a criteria for winning POW. Guess even someone as great as me learns something new every day.

If POWs were added simply for boring people to tears, you'd have the record for most received.

Big Jack was a dinosaur who's business practices destroyed almost all his business's and brought Carlton to it's knees (and lets face it we still havent got off the canvas )
His heavy handed approach and shady back door deals belong in the 80's not in todays proffesional footy enviroment.
Sure, he's passionate about the club, hell so am I, but that doesnt make me a good candidate to be president.
Collo may be a bit dull, but at least he's not a drunken buffoon.
Yes he's got a vested interest in Telstra dome, but at least that makes money, can any of Jacks present business interests claim that

Thanks for that Jar.

I forgot about Collo's 'unofficial agreement with Mike Fitzpatrick to take over the presidency in 2005 or 2006 when Fitzpatrick's work pressures allow'...

Wonder if that'll ever come to fruition? :?

There is one line in there, "Collins' big fear is that the Blues' members, like their playing list, are ageing.", that is most freightening from a marketing point of view. Three years later, nothing has been done to address it.

Elliott blamed Carlton's loss one week ago of the AFL's valuable two opening picks in the national draft on former club champions Craig Bradley and Stephen Silvagni, who disclosed their roles in the Blues' salary cap cheating earlier this month.

To this day I still can't believe those guys opened their mouths. Especially Bradley, every-time it came to contract time he use to go and train by himself and play hard ball. Shows how selfish those two were compared to Fraser Brown. That legacy has remained with the Whitnalls and the campos

DB,

Not sure about that.
All they had to do was close their hungry mouths

AFAIK Demetriou made a deal with Collo that if they came clean he'd go easy on us but then went back on his word.

And IIRC it was Evans who said to Demitriou that they had to screw Carlton thus changing AD's mind.

does anyone truly think that Ian Collins will be at the helm of Carlton for our next flag? with mckay and hunter resigning who will be the next head of carlton? do we need a politician? do we need an ex player? do we need a business tycoon? how about someone with a big personality? what do you all think?

- Mike Fitzpatrick (sharp but bland)
- Colin Delutis (could do the job, he is young and would have learnt from past mistakes, am willing to give him a second chance)

there would be a lot of dead bodies DeLutis would have to climb over after his performance at that meeting.

Rhys 26, I find it offensive that Elliott placed the blame on SOS and Bradley.
Typical of Elliott to let others take the fall for him. I have not one ounce of respect for the man as he takes no responsibility for his actions.
I recall SOS and Bradley were encouraged to come forward [my memory maybe wrong], at least those two put their hands up for what they did. Not like Elliott, he just points the finger.
Regards Pedro.

Rhys argument has some merit.

Bradley and SOS ran and followed Collo's instructions without thinking of the outcome. Dog told them all, including Collo, to go and get f***ed. Dog your the man and you live the way you played. Well done pal.

PS. I maintain half the problem we have with our current players attitudes where started by Bradley in his (I'm not training) renegotiating contracts. Remember our captain never did any preseason with us for the last 3 years (off memory) until new contract was signed.
