Cook of the Cats would be interested in the AFL CEO role if approached.

Would he be interested in the CFC CEO role?

I would hazard a guess nobody would without respect for the leadership above.

Why would he be interested, Rod? He turned down the roos after a multi million dollar offer.

He'd be a great get, but would he want to build a club once again, if the afl gig went to Gill?

Clear answer for me. Brendan Fevola.

Blokes like him. Much like his playing career, they either completely arse it, and we end up making Collingwood look like a mid table VFA club. Or he bankrupts us in two weeks on a hot tip at Cranbourne.

I'm fine with either outcome at this point. @#$%&! shit up, Fev, you crazy cauliflower.

Who said a president needs to have charisma? Colin Carter, Tony Shepherd, Richard Colless (now retired), Steve Harris....these guys are doing/have done excellent jobs, are not high profile, charsimatic leaders. Just do the hard work, make the right decisions and get the job done.

Fitzy is charismatic just not much of a joker despite a good sense of humour. He'd rally a room of players and personnel just fine. He's a bit grumpier these days, but once you factor in all the knives in the back he's received over the years...

He does not have the time or the political inclination in the current climate to be the president. Put a line through it please.

If it can't be Fev then I like Alan Eskander for his initials alone.

I'm sure he and Jack are making big noises. No one with any ability to be a kingmaker is going to look at them seriously though.

The fact that they even need such an old world political move to surge to power should say enough.

going to tom elliot means john elliott returns to carlton

we may as well bulldoze princes park , shut the club down and grow flowers and vegetables on the parkland if this ever eventuated

What has Tom Elliott got to offer? AW talk show, is that the best we can do. There must be capable people who aren't connected to the old billionaires club. And the idea of Jack being back tagging along with his son makes me sick.

Tom used to be a decent financial analyst, but seems to have increasingly gorged on the media gravy train after getting a taste on ABC's Inside Business.

I remember one year he (Tom) was thinking of running for the Board, but he could not because only had a cheap "blue" non game membership - i.e. could not even be bothered paying for a real one.

Doesn't he hate the way footy is played in the supposedly modern era?

He isn't necessary to us moving forward. Harold would be a good get, but not sure how interested he is.

Big Fev is enjoying life as the main man at Yarrawonga and is now a life member there. He is also coach of the O & M inter league side. He is also a writer in a Fairfax publication. Fev is getting his life back on track and the exit from AFL has been a blessing for him. Fev is giving back to grass root football and is the man in the O & M league. I would love to see him back at Carlton as an assistant coach, he loves the blues.
