People still clinging to the good ole days - started season 1978 about 1 and 5, Ian Stewart "sacked" , Jezza appointed coach and we win 13 of the next 16 and make the finals, it's not going to happen this time, our list is no where near that quality, but our delusional hierarchy still see this type of fairy tale.

There ain't no Prince Charming out there coming to resue us, it's going to take nothing but pain and hard work, and at the moment only true supporters recognize that.

Yes remember that well. We played the Pies at Vic Park and no one gave us a chance....we won.

Agreed we had a tremendous list. The older champions and the young champs starting out.

It's all [REDACTED]. All the way from the top. The club is not what it once was.

That's been the case for a while.

Must be hard for Sticks. He now knows he can't rely on-"he's a top bloke", "crownies","get pissed with the boys", 1995….
He and the Board have been totally exposed. No more, bandages, make up or Detol. The festering wound is out in the open for all to see. It`s actually good.

He has to finish up soon.

He and the board didnt have the balls or brains to do the right thing in 2012 and let the internet and talkback nuffs talk him/them into such and obvious stupid move. I told you it would head this way late 2012 Whistler. People took their eye off the ball and no problems were solved bringing in Malthouse. They have been made worse.

Seriously, how bad is the atmosphere at that night going to be. Especially if we're 0-9 or something

Had no choice club. Swann (CEO) was heading the execution and then got Matherson and the like onboard for the hanging.
Sticks was and still is a puppet unfortunately. The main people are running the shop but we have no alternative right now. NONE.
I don't want to go back to the Smorgen/Collo years of "handing back the keys" or "Move to Etihad" for survival choices!!!! Not again.

Yes swans fault. Lol
We were in good shape before swan and collo.
This is twenty years in the making.

People just didn't want to see it. Did they?

Sticks played his footy with a culture of buying success with brown paper bags.

Sticks takes over as president with a culture of buying respect with Dick Pratts money.

Sticks and his crew are living in the past.

They have created this mess.

They all need to walk away from the club....... Especially Fraser Brown who influences Sticks and loved his under ten table brown paper bag exchanges.

But you would have made the same moves at the end of 2012 if you were boss Synbad. You supported these huge mistakes.

Now you are looking at the big (MASSIVE) picture as way of covering your arse.

I don't just blame the Carlton board. I blame the AFL and overall I blame sport. This has been coming since sport began.

Maybe the UN Security Council is to blame?

I wouldn't go that far. I'd stop at the Maya who use to kick around the heads of their enemy after a battle for sport.

On a serious note we the fans and members have to take some responsibility. We don't let anyone settle into their jobs at Carlton. Not since the internet began. We are well known for being restless. We could learn a bit from Essendon** on how to stick together. Even if they look like a pack of brainwashed idiots their unity does wash over the playing group and they play for the jumper. Their coach poisoning them is not even enough to throw them off their game.

The facts don't support your contention.

Our senior positions and board structures have been very predictable and stable.

Maybe that is part of the problem, staleness and predictability. We can't really say pagan or ratten weren't given enough time. Maybe brittain wasn't given enough time. Look at our history. We can be brutal sometimes but compare that with the debacle at Richmond since the 1980s.

How long do we give mick? 6 years like pagan and ratten?

How long can Swann weave his recruitment magic with the collingwood football club and run a cohesive unit?

Nah - Carlton's fault again. We didn't have a recruiter watching Myrtleford in the 1983 Ovens & Murray finals series. Geelong was the only one. It was North Melbourne's zone so we didn't bother. What the HELL were our recruiters doing?! Instead they recruited two blokes with two first names! Some long-haired bloke from Bairnsdale called Alvin and Rod Ashman's nephew, Dean Peter. :|
