Fair point. They never let our indigenous brethren run in the thing. Always giving their spots to the Irish.

Mentioned this in another thread many of our "better" players best years are behind them.

Add the fact they have been in an environment that has been TOXIC it has an impact

Waite 13 years
Simpson 12 years
Walker 11 years
Carazzo 11 years
Murph 9 years
Gibbs 8 years
Kruezer 7 years

Pagan, Ratts, MM revolving door.

Elliot, Collo, Smorgon, Pratt, Sticks - a shamble!

We will not progress until the off field situation is sorted.

And I'm afraid that Sticks is rushing towards his replacement
before the 150 celebrations. Trainor & LoGiudice Hardly inspire.

Very very very harsh on Simpson there.

For me, Mick has a hell of a lot to do to fix this playing group, but he's the best person to go about it. He started it at the end of last season with a heap of delistings and changes within the coaching department. I'm sure it will continue throughout this season. Judging by Mr Connolly he's already shaking the tree that is the board.

Good on him.

Really?

How many players were actually delisted from our primary list over the past 2 years? Go back and look at the facts.
As for Mick being the best person to go about it, how do you come to that conclusion? There's several current coaches in the AFL with a better win/loss record.
What makes Mick better than them?
Some of his decision making to date has been average at best. A director of coaching and midfield coach who's been absent from the top level for 8 or 9 years. All that did was send our midfield backwards at an alarming rate. Pissing off the experienced assistant coaches and replacing them with amateurs. (All at a significant financial cost to the club)
Offering 700k to a wingman when we have massive deficiencies KP deficiencies. Mind you, if the team needs a complete overhaul, giving 700k to a wingman who'll be finished in 5 years at best is an even crazier decision. If you're going to spend a heap of money, why wouldnt we be using it on young key players from GWS or GC who will actually be around when we're a contender?

Too many mixed messages for mine. Before round 1 we're topping up with 27 year olds and Mick says we're 1 minute away from our premiership window. 2 weeks later the list is a shambles and needs rebuilding.
We gave Mick the support staff he wanted, the fitness staff he wanted, the love child he wanted. Forget the excuses and get on with the bloody job.

Ask yourself, how can one of the most successful and popular clubs in the AFL have fallen so far? Not only have we made an artform out of making poor decisions. We're on the second orbit of repeating them. I cant comprehend why the supporters and members are not standing up and voicing their disgust. Not only are these fools @#$%&! our club over, we're actually paying them to do it. :donk:
