Its now clearer than ever.

We have appointed a super coach.

Who cares whether his tactics are antiquated?
Who cares whether he is reluctant to try some of our youngsters?
Who cares that we have regressed since he took over?
And if he happens to lose the playing group ... who cares?

What matters ... is that we have Dr Strangelove! As I have said before ... a supercoach doesn't win 1 premiership in 18 years by sitting on his hands.

I am more confident than ever ... we will make the top 4 within 10 years.

He is due criticsm. No doubt but there is a bigger picture that needs addressing

However, instead of the usual sarcastic BS you spout everyday how about backing it up with logic and reasoning??

FYI I believe he has come into a club that is culturally weak and with out direction and has put pressure on the players to play a hard finals type defensive style and they have crumbled. WHY. They are front running downhill skiers.

MM needs to change a few things but he isn't going anywhere (we can't afford it) and it's about time the players took some bloody responsibility. They simply aren't good enough.

Yep ... your right ... he is a winner.

The players are at fault ... we have lost some serious class in the list since he took over.

Onward!

Cant put all blame on MM and we cant afford to sack him so our little princesses need to straighten their tiaras and have a fair dinkum go instead of waiting and watching for someone else to do it. If you a clanger player ie robinson he should present to the playing group what extra work he is doing to recitify this issue, if he isnt well put him in the bullies and let him sort it out there, draw the line in the sand make these ladies accountable MM.

Why would you single out Robinson?? :screwy:

Did you see Carazzo, Rowe, Bell - half the team? Even Menzel missed from 15 metres out pretty much dead in front. And you put it all at the feet of Robinson?

Dont worry Mr S

The Great Tsar Michael the 3rd will organise a book launching tour - perhaps even a banquet of sausage sizzles.

You just can't get over that book tour, can you ?

Do you cry at night in your bed and punch your pillow wailing about how unfair it was that Mick left you to go on his book tour ?

You seem pretty obsessed by it ...

The problem with Robbo is that his kamikaze attack, that covered a lot of skill deficiencies, seems to have evaporated. He seems really unsure of himself, and his field kicking is really from the 1960s back pocket manual, mongrel punt anywhere upfield. I wd forgive him skill errors given that half the side can't kick, so long as he rediscovers his inner maniac.

That's the story at the Pies apparently, Buckley and the assistant tried to talk MM into changing his game style but he wouldn't.

This is such a strange post. When exactly did Buckley and the one assistant try to talk Mick into changing the game style but he wouldn't???

Was it in 2009? Perhaps acceptable, but they were in fact proven wrong.

Was it in 2010? Then they're idiots, because Collingwood hardly lost a game and won the flag.

Was it in 2011? Wow! Just wow! Reigning premiers. Kicking butt again. Finished top 2 on the ladder, and made the GF. And lost to a gun team by not much. WTF were they thinking????

Was it in 2012? Well Mick had left and Buckley got his way and could implement his own game style with his assistant. That's been going well.

Look, I'm not sure whether Mick's game style is the right one in the modern era, but please everyone, don't insult our intelligence by
----- a. judging it in this rabble of a club with this rabble of a list; and
----- b. saying that it didn't work at Collingwood.... :screwy:

TOTALLY FLOWERING AGREE M25

The organisation which is the CARLTON FOOTBAL CLUB is in disarray...not Mick's credentials.

Even if Mick's time at Carlton is a disaster, history will be kinder to him than the CFC over the last 20 years

Mick may or may not be the right coach for us but I tell you what, half our playersarent the right players we should have drafted. Recruiting is bordering on industrial sabotage..it is THAT woeful

How can Hawthorn lose Buddy, have a warchest to raid FA over the next couple of drafts and still be that far in front of the comp. Whatever they are doing, we are the polar opposite

Mick's appointment is only one small problem. We have far more toxic ones eroding this club and consigning it to history.

I am big on the book tour also. No other coach in the afl would have done that.......apart from Roos.

Costly tour. Set us back.

Malthouse was appointed senior coach. The plan was for him to select an understudy who'll be groomed to take over as senior coach in a number of years.

Midway through last year, Mick approached the board with his opinion that 'there's no premiership' within the current list. His blunt presentation had stunned some board members. Mick told the board he wants to stick around and rebuild the club but it's gonna take time and that he will not throw a rookie coach like Cameron Ling or Jude Bolton under the buss by leaving them with a list that's had holes patched up.

Mick knows how to rebuild a team.

He wants to stay around and rebuild this club.

He wants to.

Hey trublu,

I'm not doubting your mail. Seems likely to me. But why if there is no premiership in the list did Mick then go out and trade for Thomas and Everitt?

No forgiveness...
He costs us goals
He is not the way forward
We achieve nothing by playing him.
I ve had enough of his giving away of silly free kicks
His time is up....

Odd coaching decision to persist with Touhy deep deep at FB most of the night......each time he tried to push up his opponent took him back to the goals. It was so obvious. Not sure how many one on ones he lost that led to goals....must have been at least 4. Not his fault at all but a terrible coaching error. Who makes that decision in the box? Malthouse or our def coach.....Barker is it?

Because they should both have at least 5-6 years footy left in them.

We aren't going to field an under 22 side.

If true, then we shouldn't have picked up thomas via FA (injury history+salary) and kept the pick we would have gotten as compensation for Betts.

By picking up thomas, and to a lesser extent everitt (trade) - he is delaying/slowing down any proper rebuild.
