He didn't recruit Rowe, Ellard, Bell, Curnow, White or Tuohy or even Robinson. Try hard plodders the lot of them. That's 1/3 of our team! Plodders! Nothing special about them. Can't hit targets, miss easy goals, fumble, drop chest marks.... We recruit these guys and then we blame the coach?

I f that were true,
then Hinkley could not have turned around the rabble that was Port.
Generally seen as hopeless by all fans and other clubs.
I reckon the coach HAS to take quite a bit of responsibility for this.

Beyond caring now. Soulless pack of softcocks, led by a bargain basement coaching staff, hired by an inept, clueless administration.

But what would they care? They have my membership $$$.

I'd persist with Bell and Touhy but you're right he didn't recruit them but he keeps playing them, he has other choices. Face it MM is a stubborn dinosaur, he's got black and white veins and will keep playing the crap until it's too late. We'll beat Melbourne cause there shit and we'll loose to the Bulldogs the week after.

Why aren't the players putting in 4 quarter efforts?

Where is the work rate?

Where are the 1%ers?

We can't get The basics of a professional contact team sport right.

Long time lurker here on the board and very occasional poster...

Thats it - I've had enough...

I've stuck through 15 years of shit. The club can't do a single thing right.

I won't be signing up again until Sticks falls on his sword and a proper cleanout from the top happens.

..of course the coach does.. ....but three coaches later and we are still a rabble.. ..change the coaches appeases some of us but ultimately we are miles off the pace, on and off field.. ..still uncompetitive..

After that we need some inspiration for next week, just not sure which one is appropriate?

1. Bring mouthguards to training
2. Bring some beer and we'll talk around an open fire
3. Boys this week is an 8 point game
4. Haircuts and facials booked for Wed

I liked the suggestion that all players should be clean shaven by next week.

i'm not blaming the coach yet, this is the players problem..
a few thoughts coming out of tonights debacle.

1 - nothing to be gained from season 2014 now except getting games into the kids. Buckley, Menzel, Cripps, Graham all need to get their spot. Waite is past it, he can take a grab, but he's so slow now and behind the game... drop him, and give Casboult 10 games in a row, see if he can develop some consistency... can't do any worse than what is happening now.

2 - Warnock dominated the number of hit outs, but it makes no difference.... when Kreuzer is back, put him in the ruck where he belongs, at least he competes hard around the ground. Warnock needs to go... though right now we don't really have any other options.

3 - If we finish bottom 6, but get almost a full season into some of the kids, i'll be content.

yeah,
I have to agree with a clean sweep starting from the very top down.
I wish I did have some faith in the coach, cos right now, there is nothing to hold onto with the club.

Pity Mick wouldn't move to Adelaide so we could find out.

Needs the safety of a big Melb club.

Hear hear. I didn't get sucked in this year. Saved over $1500. Previously had four reserved seats.

Never heard from the Club. Now they ring me regularly. I ask them to tell me the plan. That flummoxes them, and i hang up.

Clean out from the top required. It's unacceptable.

Bruce M for president. He's the only one calling it like it is ( excluding Synbad of course).

Where the hell is our mongrel?

There's a 30 year coach running the show.

I might expect him to have some idea. .

I can't recall anyone saying that in 2012, when port were almost in receivership, and had the AFLs poorest list. The basket case of the afl.

They came out in the 2013 season and won their first 5 games, under Hinkley. Almost made the preliminary final after pushing the cats in their final.

I recall asking many people whether they thought ports list was better than Carlton's at the start of 2013, and not one thought they were.

This should tell us something about our club and its culture over the past decade.....

The mongrel went when Peter Dean, Fraser Brown and Greg Williams retired. Been gone many many years !!!

He plays them because he looks in the reserves and he sees more plodders.
Watson, McInnes, Bootsma etc etc. So get used to in plodders out plodders at selection night for a while.

The Board certainly didn't see this coming.
