did it all as footballer... chairman of selctors .. director...

Carlton legend... just was there too long .

Like wise wes lofts was a very important figure in our clubs history (tough full back too in a brutal era)

But John Kennedy knew Lofts would be the man to eject him in a flash should his coaching of carlton go pear shape.

John Kennedy would have had a long tenure in mind - carlton don't work that way. Ask Parkin, Walls, Jezza. even big Nick

its better to say youre wrong and apologise....

yes we know the Oligarchs give money.. but its not a sustainable model...
the club needs to stand on its own two feet.... without the dosconnect to the members.. and without the oligarchs

Mr S, everybody knows that the Oligarchical board members provide a financial revenue stream for the club.

But carltons own financial records shows that this stream is less than 4% of total revenue.

We aren't even reliant on it financially... so what are they doing on the board??

Are they the best directors we can get???

Is the club going in the right direction?

What has it done in the past decade?

'cretylus ... we have been using the sugardaddy model and it doesnt seem to be working.
Personally i dont think its a healthy sustainable model to be using
have you ever come across a balanced .. caring .. and not a lazy spoilt.. bitchy sugar baby???

seriously... if these people wanna help us.. they would cause a spilll of the board and walk away...
yes we will have their money.. but it shouldnt be needed.

were big enough and ugly enough to look after ourselves

we do say were a big four club dont we???

seems like were not anymore... but we lost that under the sugardaddy- sugarbaby relationship

i wonder when this club will grow a set of balls and face the world without the feeder syndrome..

We do seem to play with similar intensity to Paris Hilton when the shit really hits the fan.

once a rich benefactor gets on the board, and plays a role in the direction of the club, then they are open game as far as criticism by the public and especially members.

providing financial aid or sponsorships does not protect them from scrutiny.

If they wish to be private financial supporters of the club, then that is fine. Become a director or president then its open season.

Bit like being in politics, or government or running a corporation.

I am sure many people in here have attended AGMs and seen all sorts of dissatisfaction and even aggression shown from the shareholders.

So Micahels statement that WE should say thank you and then say goodbye is ridiculous to say the least. (in other words shut up and stay out of the running of the club, its the Oligarchs who are in charge)

What sort of member does that? One that is afraid to speak up? One that can be bought out?

Most punters would have jumped on the croc ... the smart money was on the snake...
The snake came down saw the croc and sized it up... he knew he could take it...
just keep away from those jaws...

The croc is also remarkably notorious for having few efforts.

It usuallly has one....

if u watch those docos.. it sticks its head out goes snap with those jaws... if it misses it sinks back into the water....

itss abit like our footy team....

maybe a small croc...

I wonder if this week against the bombers who are undermanned in the ruck, the blues will exploit that during the game?

Will anybody physically intimidate Joe Daniher if he gets a run in the ruck?

yeah need to size them up... and look at the strengths and weaknesses and attack the bits theyre vulnerable at

ruck is definitely one.. and maybe u need people coming in and knocking joe around and hammering every time he touches it...

but the snake did that to the croc because the snake was hungry....
i think once u take out the survival instinct from whoever and they have it to easy... they dont take a risk and certainly wont be up for an epic fight of life and death
the swans finals game was a classic example....

thats blokes who were far too comfortable living in the bubble and unwilling to get out of their comfort zone

we have board members helping players win and lose money in investments instead of players concentrating on footy and board members concentrating on getting this club up and running...
everybody is looking at how to make the players more money.

hence we have a lazy and non hungry culture.

were like a pet carpet snake.. dont need to go out there and hunt for food... were being spoon fed mice by our owners...

you can see the parallels everywhere....

Unable to save ourselves.

A slow torturous death.

There is a way though...

Carlton-Melbourne.

why would merging two poor club cultures solve the problem?

(it will enhance the list depth short term, but if the underlying reasons for each clubs problems are not addressed in an open and honest manner, long term the merger will simply produce one crappy sporting organization rather than two.)
