ill believe murph is brave when i see him and judd stand in front of a lead or a pack

ive seen gibbs do it...

when i see no sacrificial acts .. i dont believe
so right now.. u can tell me all about murph bring this or that.. or i see is a guy learning from a master of no sacrificial acts
all eyes are on him he goes .. but he has no idea how to go... because its not natural.

little nathan jones should show him...

i even saw yarran do one sacrificial brave act once....

hahaha.. if only gibbs was given roles like running around unaccountable and no defensive pressure.. never to back into a pack or go in the path of a lead.. no care in the world.. till he got foind ou v geelong last year by a lamer...

and murph was given tagging roles week in week out...

Yup.
Because gibbs will split a pack, back into a pack, run through a pack, get on his hands and knees and win a hard ball, chop off a leading forward, all while copping the number 1 tag every week.
Because that's what Murph can and will do.
Did you not see gibbs pack spoiling effort on thursday night? Insipid

Lets hope Gibbsy leaves the black pit.. and goes to SA...

Then we can see whos better.

People have short memories...

Hes actually been our most consistent performer with Simmo and Scotto.

Murph loves to dive ..as soon as he feels contact... and he doesnt know how to protect himself... he also loves to play in the slipstream of others.

Murph is totally one dimensional... he is a 2nd or 3rd mid.. and hes small... he doesnt kick goals any more because his opponent takes him out of position...

He like juddy play too shallow.
neither gets deep forward or back
preferring to roam the middle.

unless there is a stoppage

gibbs gets deeper defensively and offensively....

I just can't believe the awful rap Bryce is getting here.
I guess some folks will realise he's a great player once he's gone.

Gibbs goes deeper defensively and gets smashed because he won't stand under a high ball. He goes deeper defensively because the opposition coaches see a weakness and exploit it. Similar to yaz.

Im sorry but up until now gibbs has not shown half of what murph has. Murph gets smashed every week while gibbs struts around getting cheap kicks without getting bruised. Gibbs plays bruise free footy and doesn't play it well enough.
I don't think another club will toughen him up

What exactly makes gibbs a GREAT player? Robert harvey, paul kelly, gary ablett jr are great players. Gibbs is and only ever will be a good footballer. Soft but good

Its not a smart move to have good players on $600-700k.

oi! Gibbs has been our most consistent performer.. much more so than murphy over the years hes played
and hes been given more challenging roles

That guy is a generational player. He is a genuine great. As I said. Gibbs is a good player. Soft but good.
If you compare gibbs to judd, gibbs should be on $200k, about a fifth of what judds worth. Judd also brings professionalism and an excellent work ethic, and will put his aggots on the line. Will wear one for the team.

Please, synbad, I enjoy this conversation and comparing Murphy and gibbs, but do not compare gibbs to judd

gibbs has been a better player than judd for 2 or 3 years but judd is getting paid the biggest share of the pie.

what juddy did for west coast doesnt concern me...
hes had 3 and a half great years with us.. and paid unbelievably well for 7
geelong wouldnt have kept ablett for that kind of money and hes a much better player..
so judd cant be a omce in a generation player.. because abletts been better... and unbelievably a better captain
tagged even harder
why?
because he was challenged... nobody ever challenges juddy
when he wanted to appeal he got more weeks.. even though we knew he wasnt gunna win.. and neither did the club
even when he should have gone in for an op and didnt want it.. nobody told him he must... now he costs us

Call a spade a spade and remove the flippant, unconstructive criticism.

You like Gibbs over Murphy

That's fine. That's your opinion.

I'll take any bet that if you asked all the football coaches who they think has had a better career, the majority would say Murphy

That's because we have tied Murphy up.

We did need to chuck Gibbs down back on Thurs because of no Walker and general crap decision making of the players down there.

Problem is both these guys have suffered due to a general lack of quality in the rest of the side. Their not naturally extroverted nasty competitive guys, which we desperately need a few of.

End of the day though wouldn't be paying Gibbs any more than 550k, would you Synbad?

I must agree with mr S on this one....

Gibbs has been one of the most consistent players in the league since being drafted.

Murphy needs to be commended for improving his skills, especially his defective kicking (thanks to diesel as skills acquisition coach a few years ago).

You saw easily Hodge took out murph in last years game against the hawks. Murph just didn't know when to protect his head, and Hodge knew exactly when to wipe him out. And hodge did it within a whisker of being suspended....beautifully executed from a hawthorn point of view.

My disgust was in our response to that incident.....

So, murph having his jaw broken by hodge when putting his head over a contested hard ball proves your point how?
When was the last time gibbs pit himself in a vulnerable position for his team?
