That's pretty funny stuff Gro....I'd image that would be your mentality about life & relationships.
I have a feeling you belong in the "it's my way or the highway, no compromise" group...........

I'm willing to compromise. I think certain things should be kept at princes Park, namely:
- the cheer squad,
- Barry Mitchell's office,
- Bullants games,
- rock concerts,
- the occasional family day, when the players come down from Mt. Olympus, mingle with mortals, and even sell the kids some autographs.

Agree:- the solution?

1. Knock down Princes Park and return it entirely to the tree hugging left wing residents.
2 Build a new Princes Park that is at the north end/university end of Princes Park
3. Provide car parks for the University to use during the week
4. Provide an off ramp from the new East West Link
5. A few more trams from Flinders Street

Our current Board would not have the courage, vision or conviction to do it..

 ...surely that wasn't a serious post.

a) What would the fine/jail term be for knocking down a building you don't own? We lease Princes Park. Have done for a very long time.

b) What cash reserve are we building a new stadium with? Or are you suggesting the AFL negotiate all this with Melbourne City Council? It's just that I don't think the compensation we'd receive by being homeless would go very far.

Might I suggest some light reading material for you...

http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/Parksan ... r_Plan.pdf

It costs Carlton about $2million a year to maintain the ground. The lease runs until 2035. This is déjà vu...

Visy Park is [REDACTED] as an AFL Ground

The Gardiner Stand is a death trap
The Hero's stand is a too small
The legends stand is an architectural disaster (unless you like sitting there staring into the sun)
The Pratt stand is a wreck
The Heatley stand is gone
There is nowhere to park
There is not a railway station in sight
The Northern wing of the ground has been made smaller due to the new training complex
The visiting team & umpires change rooms are virtually non existent
Getting lights would be very difficult
And most of all you have the local residents

Firstly the University end of Princes Park is the south end of the park and secondly there's probably a bloody big tunnel going through that spot in the next few years if this government is as dumb as they look.

As for the idea that you'd want to use College Crescent as an off/on ramp for a 15,000 car parking lot...

My mail is that Richard Pratt suggested this plan over 10 years ago.

Your vision is as narrow as the vision of the current Carlton Board of Directors - a no can do attitude.

As an aside, Maguire got his Collingwood development in the middle of Melbourne - played politics and business and executed his vision

This is Club is pathetic....it deserves its 20 years of failure....

Speaking of slaps this reminds me of those war movies when someone gets shot dead and the guy next to him freaks out.
The sergeant crawls over and slaps him around till he focuses again on the reality of the situation.
I wanna be that sergeant Surrey.!

Should be a comma in there.
Sergeant , Surrey .... Not sergeant Surrey.....!
Need to get that straight!

Richard Pratt was not fit to be a President of a Football Club. Had no idea what was going on half the time. But by all means - don't let the truth get in the way of a good myth.

AS for my vision - what vision? That the club keep a lease until 2035? Sure - that works for me. I like Visy Park. The Gardiner Stand will get a facelift soon and I've outlined what I believe should happen to the Hawthorn Stand and future plans for the Legends Stand. It's all good Mosquito....why are you getting your knickers in a know about a place the club is never going to play football at again? Bizarre.

he had influence and deep pockets.. but his influence allowed sticks to be your president mozzie.. not sure why you think he was fantastic but you dont like the guy he named as his successor.. pus we now have not one but tow family members on the board influencing the club today ... we know they cant be that great by where were at...
what did you think of ratts being in chaarge for 5 plus years..??
and the ceo??

the infrustructures he set up for building this club from the ground up???

because of dick.. we got a quick bandaid fix but we didnt address our core problems...he gave those more time to fester

he didnt come in and do a clean out....
he didnt strategise a blueprint into the future
he was no great lawgiver on behalf of this club

hes a bloke who used money to try to fix things.. and he didnt...just another false messiah on the back of so many other false messiahs this club has endured ...

we love our Carlton false messiahs.!!!

Compare what Dick/Sticks have done for us to what Frank Costa did at Geelong, or even Fat Ed at Colllingwood.
There's your answer.

have you not seen a Quidditch field people?
build UP for goodness sake.
raze everything 1st, then build a few levels of car parks, then shops and offices, and then..
ta da..the ground sits on top.
wowee. oh boy!!! the views.
then in a few years when flying cars come in, we'll be able to sell tickets for the outer, where you stay in your cars, like old style drive ins and watch all the action.

You are not reading my posts...i agree with pratts vision for pp.( No pots shots at me can change my understanding)

However, i also agree pratt as a president was part of the old messiah complex at carlton-thats why we need the best and most effective board coupled with major constitutional change.

Surrley there is only so much you can take before returning some serve..
I guess some posters just need to just behave and follow the leader right?

Ps.Why can't we debate without the personal attacks continuously?
Why do we have the pack mentality in TC, is you don't agree with the great one?
That is what has annoyed me of late!!!
I know just behave Surrey cause you no nothing, right? Well flower me, I'm upset with our performance as well but I don't go out to attack anyone because I not listening to what we should do from others.
I have my views and no bullying will change that. Actually it will do the opposite to me and if this were a playground, it would be definitely on for young and old. Thankfully, I feel I have grown up a little since though.
