Carlton grew its membership base when we were a wooden spooner club. Same will happen with the Bombers*.

No I still want Princes Park for the interstate teams or small Melbourne Clubs - could be 6 games....

Why? Carlton doesn't get anything out of that.

Dont want to get anything out of it.Just wanna watch footy at Princes Park.....................greatest footy ground in the land.

You know my answers on these issues. Read the entire thread.

If we can get entirely out of Iceland's the club will be financially and football wise better off..

We need to get away from Etihad as soon as possible. Just doing some research on our performances there since the venue opened. We have won 23 out of 70 games at the venue, a record of only 32% which is poor.

Below is the breakdown of wins and losses over the years at Etihad.

Year Won Lost
2000 1 1
2001 1 0
2002 1 7
2003 1 3
2004 2 2
2005 2 6
2006 2 8
2007 1 7
2008 3 6
2009 6 2
2010 3 5

Our worst period in our history coincided with us playing at Colonial / Etihad - I reckon we are more suited to the MCG - but if we had of played all those games from 2002 to 2008 at Princes Park I reckon it would have been basically the same outcome.

If we played the games at princes park instead of Iceland's we would have won more games and would have more money from gate receipts....

Is it a good time to bring up Hawthorn's $1 lease per year of Waverley?

Don't blame Hawthorn - a very smart Club with the best Board in the AFL - hence 2 Premierships in the last few years.

Being a member...not being a member...doesn't matter. Neither get a say in proceedings.

Carlton's biggest down fall has been moving from Princes Park. It's no coincidence that we struggle to stay competitive with the AFL heavy weights since then.
