Left at 3/4 time. Made the right choice.

Thomas was worth it.

One passage of play in particular - his first touch. Sprinted 40m up the wing to provide an option, Curnow burnt him, didn't just make another lead to appear busy or to try and work over his opponent, his second lead into the corridor, even better option. Started a nice passage of play till it stuffed up.

Shows up a lot of our senior players already for working hard, not just appearing to.

Watto offered a lot. Exciting.

Ellard's making it tough to cut for round 1. Doing everything right so far.

I saw enough to leave happy, even if it were in part to great timing.

Pros:
Buckley, Thomas, Jamo 2nd half, Ellard, Menz, Wood, Cripps late, Yaz early, Garlett, Watson.

Cons:
confidence killer for Cas, Rowe, Bell, Cachia, Maybe Mcinnes.
sloppy, thought less footy.

And yes, first hit out for the year aside, simply do not believe Kreuzer is in our best 22.

..played a lot up fwd, but doesn't have fwd craft so the defender with experience will read the play and can spoil.. ..he is dangerous when he pushes fwd when in the ruck, but not a key fwd..

Barely watchable and unimportant but did anyone else think we got BBQ'd by the umps?

Lots to like, especially from our new recruits. Thomas, Everitt, Cripps, Wood all showing excellent signs. Watto much improved, Buckley improving. Lots of outs tonight, lacked a bit of class, toughness and fitness running out the game. Menzel is a player. Yarran lazy as ever. Murphy a pretty uninspired 30 touches for mine. Boots still off the pace, Rowe a real worry.

I like preseason coz I get to see the kids and the new recruits. All have impressed me.

Talk about overreacting lol
The sky's falling in because we played one bad quarter with half a proper side in a game that means squat lol
One thing is for sure though..... Bootsma cemented his reputation for being the biggest waste of a high draft pick in over a decade!!!

I think we have too many similars with no stand outs.

Bell, Cachia & Robbo- all bull at a gate, hard running, physical but lack alot of polish.

Curnow, McLean,Ellard, Carazzo & Graham- ball magnets, hard running, goal scoring but lack pace and a little polish.

Kreuzer, warnock & Wood- avg to good tap rucks that lack strong overhead marking who we persist in putting fwd as genuine targets.

Rowe & Casboult- given ample opportunity with no one stamping authority

Yarran, Garlett & Menzel- too up & down, highlight reels are better than most but not enough for whole games by any.

Need to:
Play 2 rucks, alot of bench time with some fwd 3rd tall work.
Can only play 4 of the 6 mids mentioned.
Possibly look at playing Tuohy through middle all year. Elite disposal, quick, strong & fit. Play Buckley or ? as the small defender.
Henderson has to play fwd.

The clowns closed Level 3 and were trying to sell reserved seats on level 2 for $16, attendants were policing tickets into level right up til the end of then game.

I have my doubts as well. Would help though if our supporters at the game tonight didn't give the Bronx cheers. He doesn't deserve that.

Yep, they should of have, other clubs do... it's the exact reason why teams like Geelong and Hawthon give players of Carrazzo's age 1 year contracts not 3... and players much better than Carrazzo!! It's also why their salary cap isn't a mess!
Ellard's making it tough to cut for round 1. Doing everything right so far.

Generally respect your sense of humour but this time I think your way off.

Pretty disappointing to hear the crowd give Bootsma the Bronx cheers. Actually it's pathetic to be honest.

We are better than that people. He's a young footballer into his third year who trying his hardest to make a good go of it. Cut him some slack

I actually see some potential in boots. He does position his body well on one in one contests and I think competes well for a lightly framed kid. I definitely see much more potential in boots than the likes of White, Mcinnes and Watson..... Just give him some time.

I thought Waite was worst a field tonight....... By a mile

We have no shortage of flower supporters attending games.

Very disappointing in a meaningless game reminded me of first 3 matches last year and comedy cup final we bomb the ball unmercifully
No clean possession fumbling
No quality transition from back to forward
A lot of b graders on our list missed an opportunity
Murdered by cleaner Adelaide round the packs
Very one paced midfield
Very ordinary forward line and forward line pressure
Good efforts Buckley ellard Jamison and bell

Watson Menzel Buckley bell Thomas all showed a bit

Terrible Waite Kreuzer and Rowe (he is not AFL standard )

Disappointing efforts McLean Curnow yarran and in the second half Everitt

About 3 weeks time we play Port need a much better effort otherwise will be staring down a big loss

I go to every game in Melbourne and can therefore assert confidently that we have the worst supporters in the league. Can't recall Bootsma getting the Bronx cheers before tonight so I suppose we've plumbed new depths.

Andrew Walkers boy running around in the little league looks a prospect.

Likes a run by the look of it. Who'd have thought it!!
