Will Denis Pagan be coaching the next successful Carlton team?
Yep, he sure will be. 44%  44%  [ 31 ]
Nope. He'll keep collecting his $800,000 pa while he can - but he can kiss a Carlton premiership goodbye. 56%  56%  [ 39 ]

By 'success', I mean realistically contending in finals.

It's hard to see him hanging around till 2009, when we should be reasonally competitive.

My answer is a resounding 'no'.

(But I'd love to say yes).

Probably not, but hopefully he'll have laid the foundation for one.

No, but he will set us up for the next one despite the media hack criticising him for his re-treads.If that hack Grant Thomas can do it with early picks we don't have anything to worry about!

C'mon guys... HAVE SOME FAITH.. Isn't he on til 2008??

We'll get some good talent in this years draft, it's a "dud draft"(apparently) but we're in a position where we cant (shouldnt) mess it up.

Next year we'll get some good talent (apparently) in the draft no matter where we finish next season.

EVEN IF WE'RE SHIT IN 2007 WE'LL CLEAN UP IN THAT DRAFT AS WELL...

Therefore, if we're still shit in 2007 SURELY we wont be in 2008, cos that will make it THREE drafts in a row where we get some sweet, sweet talent (plus Walker Waite Thornton Simmo etc will be their ROLE MODELS).

And if we're not shit in 2007, it'll mean we're good, so the answer to the poll is YES.

At the very least Pagan will walk out of his time at Carlton with a smile on his face.

Let's hope he doesn't lose the players again like he has twice in the last 3 years. Why we're in the sh1t.

Do you ever have anything positive to say?

The ones who will be swimming in money are Camporeale and Kouta, who have been ridiculously overpaid for the past 5 years. They like the rest of Elliott's big contracts had to be dragged kicking and screaming to a paycut, despite the risk we could breach the cap again!

I think that with some draft picks this year and a good pick at number one in the psd, Pagan will help to get us under-way, but I don't think that he'll be here for the long haul.

He'll lay the foundation before he retires, then hopefully Peter Dean will be the next premiership coach.

We will be better next year - We have to be the club cant afford another year like this. But Pagan will NEVER EVER lead this side or any other side to a flag. The game has passed in by when his Boy wonder Carey left him

I am actually on the opposite side of the fence to most, but I think Pagan will be our next premiership coach. He is not "rebuilding the list via tanking" for nothing. He will want to go our a winner.

PS. Love your sig Sydneyblue

it's not just about early draft picks, many of our players were picked up late first round or in the 20's or 30's, plus we traded very well to get
players like Hamill (remember him anyone?) & Gehrig.

I'm confident Pagan will not know how to handle the early picks you will get.

Carlton need someone from the modern era to build a young team, someone like Thomas or Worsfold.

I'm confident Thomas can't coach or develop Goddard into the best player he can be.Not to mention signing up Blake ahead of Knobel, Aussie Jones mystery retirement and the Sainst appointing the wrong fitness staff and curators.

Well Gwilty at least we have a past.

See we at Carlton can look it both directions

We can Look back at our past Glories

And We can look forward to more Glory to come

You my friend cant look anywhere - You look back there is nothing and you look forward there is nothing as your window of opportunity is sadly passing you by
