Bit different to watching it in October, November, December, January and February. I can understand the younger ones who have been bereft of Carlton success watching that final - and associating with 'success'...

Carlton should apply to the afl to have that game struck from the records

Here's an idea - watch a Premiership dvd! Lots to choose from...68, 70, 72, 79, 81, 82, 87, 95...

Or you could watch the Swans v Carlton final...either way - you'll learn more than watching the Richmond final.

I think it's the only way.

Then we can focus solely on learning modern footy success from grand finals 30+ years ago.

just like the sydney game has been struck from most carlton supporters minds??

remember...???

winged sydney... 3 guys out of the game by 1/4 time..they get a massive amount of possessions knowing that the more they have the ball the more they wont tire out and with one way for us to win back the ball.. we have one of the worst tacjkling and effort games ever.

all we had to do is stay within 3 or 4 goals... and we would run over the top of them.. they played their possession game.. we didnt even bother to pressure.. and tackle.. let alone win the ball..
the prize up for grabs that day?????.. a place in the prelim final.!!!.. something we havent achieved.... and our players wernt interested.. an honest team is always going to roll pretenders.pretenders who beat other pathetic clubs

yes the afl wont strike that from the records.. but you should always remember the sydney game more if youre fair dinkum....

down hill skiers central!!!

yes our down hill skiying team beat richmond!!! a very pathetic team in their own right...!!!. .with a very inglorious history over 35 years!!!.. oh wowww!!!!

thats our yardstick!!!

We are fans not the coaching staff. We get to enjoy wins, even if we fell down the next week.

You're dead right dane...basic human trait.

Hate to think of us as StKilda like....but...we havent won a flag since 1995.
Haven't played off in a GF since 1999.

WE shouldnt accept mediocrity, but if you can't change the benchmark the players set, because youre only a fan, then enjoy the wins I say...and dont get too emotionlally involved.

Look forward to our next win.

Cant wait for Carlton vs Port with Lobbe rucking on his own....hope that's a win too.

And I look into your constant cheer leading for mediocrity.
You sure you're not a reincarnated stkilda supporter? You sure look and smell like one!
Just a shill for mediocrity....
But I don't mind that you harbour no ambition for this onCe mighty football club.. though I am with great interest following your barracking for the abyss and your smothering of any kind of cries for real improvement. It's a curiosity for me.

I should get out there and kick a few goals. Maybe I could lift us through becoming a coach or something.

It is possible if you are up to the challenge to both really enjoy the win against the tigers and look for improvement in the future.

I remember celebrating us beating the eagles in 92, remember that Synbad, when they were undefeated and we were ordinary? Did you enjoy that one? Do you still remember it? Do you know why you remember it?

How about the game against North (was it in 89?), Gleeson kicked the winning goal at about the 36 minute mark, crowd went nuts! How dare they, North were rubbish and so were we.

It's these memories that keep us coming back, without the wins aginst Port and Richmond last season would have been a total memory blank, no positives, nothing to enjoy.

It's nice to be positive sometimes, even in the face of shitness
