Fair call. If he's the long term successor, then that is concerning. On the other hand, I'm not convinced they've even got to thinking that far ahead.

In the interim, it flies in the face of a "she'll be right" mentality that is a far bigger concern.

Succession planning? No...no need. Mick will be there for a while yet. The fact that MM, Wiley, Laidley and Buttifant all get along well is the saving grace here. Just would have liked someone who could run along beside the likes of Mitch Robinson, Bryce Gibbs, Jaryd Cachia, Jeff Garlett et al and shove a hand in their back and say 'To play as a midfielder - you need to be running this fast'.
