As far as his supposed poor media appeal is concerned, I don't give a stuff. How or what he says to the likes of Mark Robinson is irrelevant.
It's what he says to the likes of Mitch Robinson is what will be of interest to me.

Well - I stand by those comments. It's far from an ideal appointment. Shocked that so many think it's good. But he's not a senior assistant - he's a midfield coach. Fourth or fifth choice midfield coach.

Based on what Dr? Please tell us who else was available (once Brown said he was leaving) that you would have taken and how much you would have offered said better person.

Do you know people at North, Port, Collingwood and StKilda who know DL in depth. He has played under Premiership Coach Pagan and worked under Premiership coaches in Williams and Malthouse so I think it is fair to say he isn't an untried hack.

Based on that we know that some individuals knocked Carlton back before Laidley contacted Malthouse saying he was leaving the Saints. You're right...not many available. Not many who want to work at Carlton.



Never said he was an untried hack. Experience counts for something. But whether you think it's a good appointment or a not so good one, the proof will be in the pudding and whether or not he can communicate a coaching methodology effectively to players - which he's been unable to do in the past.

No you didn't. That was my turn of phrase.
