Hey Doc

That sentence didnt need doctoring
So I thought it right if I quoted the original verbatim because I agree with it.

You'd be in the minority if you did not ackowledge Jezz's comment to be the majority viewpoint.

You're saying its 'sold' to us. I'm saying its not for me.
I am saying Laidley has been credited for many wins, by me and you and everyone else has and that's what the comment is based on.

Never the let the truth.....

I know, like Ratten, Laidley doesnt present well in the media.
But as an assistant coach he can focus on what he's good at. Coaching and developing and tactical prowess.

Tactics. I know people who have worked with him, and that's what they say.
Yes he is full on. He's committed 100%.

We are fortunate to have Laidler than not. What do you say?
I have a sneaky suspicion your acquaintance on th Board isnt' the reason Laidler came over. Now any other Board member.

I and most TCers have wanted him to come to Carlton, but we were unlucky, unattractive or too slow.
We've got him now, and its a good thing maaaaaaaaaaate

Thanks MM

We only wish that's 'all you can say'.
Unfortunately, we know it won't be the case

That deserves a private p.m don't you think?

Unless its a acknowledged we ALL have our moments!

Bondi speaks with passion, is half glass full and knows his footy. For those not on the right track would see that as the wrong track

Doesn't matter what any of us think, Dean Laidley is on board !
Let's hope it turns out to be a great appointment.

Has it's advantages in that it frees up Rob Wiley more having another senior head work with MM.

Has its disadvantages in that he's openly critical of things that he needn't worry himself with.

Not sure if he's doing the same role he did at the Saints, but I haven't seen anything in St.Kilda's midfield the last two years that makes me stand up and take notice.

Not alot to work with down there Dr. DelSanto is always iffy if he is tagged, Hayes was out, Stevens gets alot of it and is on the rise but he is no inside mid. The rest are just trundlers.

Atleast he should bring some mental toughness with him.

They didn't call him "The Junkyard Dog" for nothing.

Let's hope he adds some much needed bite.

I imagine that the majority of the argument on here.....on both sides.....is based on nothing but gut feel and perception.

Good appointment.

Laidley will "call out" guy's who are not adhering to the rules.
Laidley has strong views but he does analyse the game closely.
I suspect he's not passive or reactive, he looks to try new things.

I'm also encouraged because I was fearful that MM would appoint another magnetic board holder but instead he's gone for a tough coach who might challenge him.

MM's off season is about 8/10 so far from me.

Two year deal. Malthouse finishes his three year deal in two years time.

Cards falling into place nicely.

Laidley might be waiting a while. Malthouse is only 60. It's the new 50. I think he'll coach Carlton until he's 70. That's the new 60.
