Given Mick values defence a lot, it would surprise me if he would allow Barker to be the back line coach if he didn't rate him.

Which begs the question....what exactly is everyone around here basing their assessment of Barker on?

I will admit our dysfunctional forward line has made me thinking negatively of Barker, however, I got to trust Mick. You don't put a known spud in charge of such a valued part of the ground. Mick would probably rather have no back line coach (and do it himself) than appoint someone he doesn't rate.

Fwd line is product of lack of depth in midfield

..and not lack of KPFs..??!!..

Yep. Let's get one more anyway.
Worsfold for backline coach.
You know it makes sense.

The biggest upside is that it's really REALLY upset a friend of mine who is one of the few passionate Kangaroo fans.

Should be a good inclusion. Maybe our next senior coach?

That's surely a joke right?

I don't understand all the love for Laidley. I don't rate him. Just because someone says he's a leading strategist, doesn't mean he is! The complaints over the years from players have been 'He knows what he wants - he just can't communicate it' to 'He criticizes the culture of the place - but he's never here!

Many of you have ticked in approval of Laidley, then gone to another thread and potted the Saints and Watters! Hilarious! I trust Malthouse, but not with this one. Hope I'm proven wrong.

Doc do you forget what he was able to extract from the North list? His main weakness was match day performance, but his prep work was top notch

I've looked and looked and looked - but there seems to be no record of prep work anywhere.

Malthouse has worked with him before. I am sure he knows what he is getting.

He meets all our our recent criteria.

1. Are you ex Collingwood?

perhaps I should have been more specific, he was well known as a tactician, I rated him moreso as a pre game tactician rather than someone who could adapt during a game - this was his weakness

Laidley was always known for being tactically astute, so he will help us.
Short of getting the next gun young coach soon to be head coach, he is a great appointment

He gets a rough run from the umpires, though. They crucify him every week
