Well, he does have a proven record of reducing forward lines to nothingness, so I can see the logic

Harsh call Snickers.

I reckon Laidley's a good addition. Former senior coach who was considered a very good tactician. Since then he's added to his experience. I'm far more comfortably with him steering the mid-field that Green, (who should be more suited to the forward line).

I'll grant that Barker in the back line seems a bit odd.

Simon Black seems to be the flavour of the day ... but then so was Michael Voss a few years back and James Hird. Black can play, but who's to say he can coach?

Happy with Laidley's appointment.

Well, he has been out of the game for almost 2000 years, but you never know, we gave the pagans a go and they weren't much chop either.

Jesus played in the NBA - he'd be very left field for the AFL...

That's not JC, it's Ross Noble.

Has it's advantages in that it frees up Rob Wiley more having another senior head work with MM.

Not sure if he's doing the same role he did at the Saints, but I haven't seen anything in St.Kilda's midfield the last two years that makes me stand up and take notice.

other than belting us earlier this year!

I'd go so far as to say that Laidley is a brilliant get.

MM and Laidley have worked well together before. Lots of experience and will release Wiley to more of a development role. IMO a good appointment

I'm convinced Barker has polaroid photos of Kernahan rooting a farm animal. Possibly a male pig or a breed of goat.

Doesn't explain why they keep him on

And Green is coaching the forward line where he was a proven A grade player and team captain. So the panel has definitely taken a step in the right direction.

Given Mick values defence a lot, it would surprise me if he would allow Barker to be the back line coach if he didn't rate him.
