We probably have more Round 1 picks on our list than any other club but ..........

Andy McKay was on radio this morning. He confirmed that we had constraints in what we could do this trade period.
When asked if the constraints were salary cap issues he said they were.

Thomas Docherty and Everitt are all former first round draft picks.

I have to admit, the club has done pretty well during the trade period. I know they would have liked another player to add to our midfield depth and savage was that player.

Dropping 7 picks to 39 hardly ideal. That's not good negotiating when he's worth 51. Having said that, I think he'll help...but he what's the bet he ends up a back pocket specialist.

Only if he thinks it's deserved. Do you know how squirm inducing going against your own better judgement is?

I disagree. To get a player like Everitt for virtually swapping down the draft order by 7 positions is a huge win.

Especially when most experts say that after the first 18 or so picks it's anyone's guess from there on.

What's the difference between pick 32 and 39 really? Not much especially when it's all a guessing game

From what I've read in multiple places players outside of pick 20 could be picked anywhere, one club could rate a player at 25 whilst another club could easily rate at 45.

Whilst going down 7 spots in the second round isn't ideal, it's not the end of the world either. Only the recruiters will know at draft time if they are disappointed they just miss out on a bloke at 39 which they would have got for 32.

More chance, I think, of getting a Mitch Thorp/Garlett at 51 than 69 if that's the way they're thinking.

The player that would have "fallen" to us at pick 32 will be just as "good" as the player that will "fall" to us at pick 39.

Swans will pick a star with our pick - doesn't mean we would have.

No, just like they do with any 2nd, 3rd or 4th round draft pick.

That's beside the point.
