Well according to my records with Scotto kept on for another year we have 6 primary list players left to sign up (if they haven't already signed).

McLean
Lucas
Ellard
White
McInnes
Duigan

Rookies Curnow & Cachia still in limbo....

Brock McLean, Simon White and Ed Curnow are all contracted for 2014. Nick Duigan won't be at the club next year.

I presume so, but I don't know for sure like I do the others - hence left him out....

By my count we've got 19 of our current primary list (32) out of contract next year.
Bit of work to do next year.

id start by signing up juddy to the most expensive contract again.....

and then as the money offers come through for our players...because we didnt sign them up a year earlier... id do my best to match them....

its ok if we lose them because we can pay overs for players from other clubs

i see hyper inflation to stupid clubs

It all gets back to development of the kids - gives your list currency and continual finals appearances.
If you stuff up development you're in quicksand as a club.

recruitment
contracts
salary cap

alot of it is common sense.

"Murphy come in sit down and close the door..."
"What are you doing re contracts??... are you commited to the club or do you want to wait and see what someone is offering you next year?"

"Why on hold Murphy? You havent been good for 2 @#$%&! years!!!...youve been well paid through your craappy seasons..."

"What do you mean i offend you??.... Ok i have a proposition for you Murphy... its a once in a once only offer....ready?"

Seeing you have been shit ... you sign the very good contract offered before you or youre up for trade....you have 24 hours to go see that manager of yours and come back with an answer...."

"24 hours Murphy.... go call Gibbs into the office and see you tomorrow"

"Gibbs... close the door behind you and sit down......"

if u @#$%&! up anything... youre in quicksand as a club...

there are no aspects to anything we have under control

Synners is right. For those of us who follow the EPL you know that clubs don't let players enter the final year of their contract (unless you don't want them).

Free agency brings the same pressure to the AFL. Unless we're happy to lose these blokes for nothing, we should have had new contracts in front of them. Those who weren't signing... well they should have been traded.

Smart clubs are also going to figure out the guys you target in trade week are not the free agents. They're the free agents for the following year. You can lowball the club that holds them on the basis they can leave for a trade now or on a free in the following season. I'm not sure who from other clubs is on the 2014 free agent list, but we should have been in their ears this trade period.

  If he wasn't still alive (and I understand he's not that well) I'd be thinking you'd just channeled Wes Lofts!

Thats how they do it in the soccer.
Took a few years to work it out... the Bosman rule took a few clubs aback for a bit... but thats how it works now.

Doc .... Lofts wouldnt let some underachievers take over the club..... no way!!!

To Wes the Salary Cap wasn't a rule it was just a suggestion.

Nonetheless, I do have a soft spot for Wes.

ok...so you can throw Henderson fwd and add Docherty, but as an overall look into where our strengths and weaknesses lie - it's plain for all to see.

I'd say Menzel is more of a med fwd at the moment than outside mid.

Plus that doesn't account for the 8 free list spots we have at the moment.

Walker could also be a med fwd.
