Do most of you think selection 32 is a fair deal for Docherty who was selected at pick 12 in 2011

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't GWS take 12 of the best 17 year olds out of that draft pool? Hence 12 for Docherty could actually be more like a pick in the 20's?

Bingo. Doc was taken in a compromised draft. He's more a pick 20 than a pick 12

still want him though.

Docherty can play, have seen him play a few games and he has class
written all over him..
First year he will play the sweeping role, and the following years too come
no doubt he will roll into the midfield.
He is a must get, especially at pick 32.
If we can't pick up a KPP, then I would be happy to pick up Mitch thorp with
pick 33 or 47(I think)..
Thomas, docherty, thorp and pick 13 Lennon(wish), great additions to the group.
But again docherty is a must..
Just hope our ''management'' can get over the ''my dic# is bigger than yours''
before it's to late..

Lions have better offers on the table. Simple as that.

We were given time to come up with a pick around the 24 mark but haven't managed to find one around that mark.

Saints might trump us again.

Great List Management again. Get rid of a McEvoy & Dal Santo (saves $) with Hickey coming through and getting Longer. Also get Savage, Delaney and probably Bruce and a number of good picks early in the draft.

Impressive.

No CEO, expecting big operating loss, probably finish bottom 3 in 2014, will struggle for members, will sack coach by end of 2014, Saints are a basket case again

Trublu.

Where are the better offers. No one is giving up a first round. Early second round picks are interstate teams. I can really see the Dogs, and North as the dangers. Would North give up this pick considering they are using their first round on McDonald?

Dogs should be using the pic on Crameri unless that falls over.

Granted another team could use a player in the trade, but Who knows......

North will not trade their second pick. I guarantee it. It's why they refused to trade for Dal Santo. They have this weird idea that their first pick was 'taken' from them because they used it on father son (what a joke - they didn't have to take him). They want a 'live' pick in the draft so will not move their second pick for anything.

Any update bluepill ?
Thomas and Docherty good gets
Looks like club has backed off re boots
Wonder what key position players we are targeting
Don't seem to be many speculated on only McKenna and Bruce left given gumby seems to be freo bound

Not that he is key position but club has always been in love with everett or was that only Ratts -heard his manager suggesting a few teams are into him

West Coast hoping to get Bootsma for pick 31. Source Herald.

Yeh, the Age said Eagles refusing to give picks. And we refuse players they have offered.

Yet the Herald Sun says Eagles want to give us 31. If that was the case we would have taken it and run already considering the Eagles list manager said last week we asked for a second round pick.

I don't get why we would give up a promising kid for pick 31 in a draft that the experts say after the first dozen picks, it's anyone's guess from there on. Someone likened it to a lucky prize.

And with our poor recruitment record, I'd be sticking with Bootsma.

Maybe Mick doesn't think he is very promising and would rather cut our losses now whilst we can still get a 2nd rounder out of him?

They say the draft is shallow every year.

I'd say it's more or less considered a swap of Bootsma for Docherty then.

I'll take it.

Not a bad way of looking at it.

A lot of talk about last minute trades etc.

It all gets a bit innuendous(???) toward the end which I like.

No potential? He showed more than that simon white or Matty Watson

Little rumor last night re bootsma.
Apparently trying to off load bootsma so we can use that
pick for Robbie Tarrant...
Source, ex carlton player, Craig Bradley..
We are trying to get,
Thomas, docherty and Tarrant..
So far we have one...
Interesting 3 days ahead..

Is interesting. I was told something similar. We are definitely trying to move Boots to get someone else and I'm told its a tall. Didn't know it was at Tarrant though.

The Tarrant talk has been bubbling away for a few weeks.
He has a few question marks but would take him in a flash for an effective swap for Bootsma.
Reckon it would need a minor steak knife.

Really not sure why you would off load Hammer and then get Tarrant. Both injury prone and both average forwards.
