I know one thing is for sure, if we don't land the biggest free agent ever when Judd retires end of next year with all the moula he's got tied up I'm moving onto Gibbs as the culprit of our woes.....

I know mate, made similar comment previous page. There is hope though if you agree.

YES!!!!.....there is that phil and barb type supporters element.
they always support the players no matter what....

barb was going crazy one day threatening anyone who was giving it to campo when he deserted us.

there are those 'kinds' of supporters i guess... not the biggest and deepest thinkers... but passionate all the same.. have all the player dolls and stubby holders....
they love the players.. and not analyse anything any deeper than that
(think Essendon*)

then there are those who i reckon cant handle if they know the club is even more derelict in their duty than they even suspect

to have juddy as our most expensive player in 2014 illustrates that to the enth degree.

i wonder what it would be that this club has done that would make people believe it cant be possible... there is no way juddy can be higest paid in 2014...

its about the sraw that broke the camels back.. so rather not believe or wanna know...

deep inside they know.. but lets pretend its not true...

whistle away .. its not happening...

either way there are all kinds of supporters....

and look ive been away 2 weeks.. im well sunned and rested....bring it on!!!!

He should play for FREE!!!!

No but he would be among our best three players (maybe 4 with a fit daisy)...

its all a bout what is fair and reasonable.....

if he asked for a million he can pack his bags

id be putting it on the llist to sign up a season before free agency .. if they dont wanna.. they get traded.

this club needs commited footballers...

no commiment to the cause... see ya!!!... all we need to so is pay 92% of the salary cap

its not like were missing out on flags as it is....

but what we have right now is sooo wrong

best 5 potential free agent players on the list.... and priorities to sign up

gibbs
walker
henderson
murphy
daisy sits outside those as he came as a free agent but is a top 5 player

i think king kouta said udd is one of our best 5 players or something

nonsense!!!!

hed be nudging ten... and dropping but has been very well looked after...

id rather keep kreuzer happy than judd....

simmos a far better player

judd is a fossil.... needs to play some bloody good footy for what he gets...!!!...

this club needs to learn to be smarter...if its ever going to pick itsef up off the canvas.

What's the difference between Synbad and a pitbull?

A pitbull eventually lets go.

I thought the answer to that joke was: Synbad wears lipstick.

..hendo is same age as krooz, so another year away still from restricted free agent.. ..no, scratch that, he came to us from the brions, so i think Hendo will take longer to be restricted free agent cos he hasn't been at our club for as many years, doesn't it work something like that..??..

..but in my mind, i think [looking from the outside] that krooz and hendo aren't gonna leave.. ..both very happy and settled at the club, both have knocked back better deals to stay with us, especially krooz but hendo as well.. .... ..might even be able to add Gibbs to that mix, he also has knocked back big offers, and if not already is in line to be looked after by the club.. ..wearing stick's old number, and sticks and his old man are good mates if i recall [could be wrong on that one].. ....for better or worse, both for us and himself, i think gibbs strikes me as the kind of person that once he's committed and settled [as he has been for a while now], that he's not likely to get up and leave..

..i think gibbs is one of our best players, both in his natural position, and others due to his genuine versatility.. .... ..his durability also means that we get plenty of return out of him, as an investment.... ..and i think this is where we need to be smart.. ..the players with proven durability, and flexibility,, that give a consistently good effort and performance are the ones to 'reward'.. ..the ones that have knocked back big offers elsewhere have proven their loyalty..

Yeah, nah.....I think we've all been around long enough to know that Synbad will debate with himself if he doesn't get a bite....

Point is, we are clearly well and truly in the free agency market next year if Judd has that much money tied up. Guess we'll wait and see

Anyway ....

With so many players coming up for free agency next year there is the strong probability compensation picks will be scrapped - which they should be.
Collingwood have been kissed on the collective dick yet again with pick 10 or 11 for Daisy.
So if say, Gibbs went next year - which I doubt - we'd get SFA.

Such a shame we weren't prepared for free agency last year like the good clubs when we were in a list mis-management straight jacket.

And this year, when we snare the second-best player available, we don't take full advantage of FA because we lose our most prolific goal kicker of the past 5 yrs or so.

No, he probably wasn't worth $500k, but we could have tried harder if our commitments weren't so great for players on the wane - Waite, Carrots, Judd etc.

Eddie went to fit Thomas in. So, if daisy's ankle stands up and Jeffy, Menzel and co step into the breach we are arguably a better side. If.

We've done well this year - but it could have been better.
Here's hoping we already have an eye on next year and are prepared to make a bold call on a big-name player or two.

Fair points kenny, but we haven't finished yet. It may end up better and it may end up worse.

Thomas for Eddie is a huge win for us. Loved Eddie but Garlett and Yarran will work better without him there.
We didn't have a Thomas type.

List Management is all about the year at hand but just as much the year after and even the year after that.
Our List Management has been poor and we all know that. We either let it go or keep bringing it up at any and every call. I can't see the point but...........

2 years ago we had.......Icke, Ratten, Hughes and Swann.
We now have...............McKay, Mick, Rogers and Swann.

Better or worse? Only time will tell.

What we need to do is unearth a couple of very good players in the draft.
Can't keep headhunting but have little coming through.

Heard bits of Swann on SEN thismorning - interesting to hear we'll be using '4 or 5 draft picks' on 18yo's this year - throw in a couple of rookie upgrades maybe 7 picks !

Well Judd's taking up so much of next years salary cap in his final year that Carlton are actively looking for a KFC sponsorship deal to feed Bootsma.

We should be able to do an 1986 style raid on the best 5 free agents next year and still have loose change to front load Gibbs extended contract.

Premiership guaranteed in 2015....
