That's far from "officially a Blue" as bluepill states.

It's official as it can be without the official paper work being lodged.....so therefore unofficial

Yes Docherty.
No Chapman.
No Shaw.

Hope it's right.

Chapman on a cheap deal woulda been okay, but can't complain. Hopefully Docherty is a gun. Can't remember too much of him, tbh. Hard running with heart is what I hope for.

If all we end up with at the end of this trade period is a guy with suspect ankles and an unknown kid from Brisbane, I will be sorely disappointed. Considering all the talk about how "aggressive" we were going to be this trade period, I was expecting something special. At the very least a gun forward. With Betts now history and stats of 2011 = 50 goals. 2012 = 48 goals and 2013 = 27 goals (broken jaw) a potential 50 goals a season player gone elsewhere is quite a hole to fill.

Docherty a defensive player, when our defense was probably the best thing to come out of 2013, go figure ...

Daisy is a gamble at best with no guarantees. A great pickup IF he's injuries prove to be nothing serious and long term AND he can regain the form he's known for.

And that's it? That's all we've got to show for our "aggressive" 2013 trade period?

I do hope there's a deal going on somewhere for someone we can get excited about.

No salary cap space
Just a beautifully crafted list and list management
Who did you want for what ?

I said weeks ago. Eddie had to go for space Lol
Ridiculous! Gambled losing our best forward in the hope we can get Garlett to step up so we can get one premium.

The others were always going to be b and c graders.

Psych owes me an apology...
He slagged me off for suggesting exactly that.

I don't think trading Bootsma, Watson, Robinson, Lucas would free up much salary cap space. They surely can't be on that much and you still have to replace them, with a 2 year contract, which means we could be looking at a situation where we have a limited number of players to de-list again next year.

To free up cap space you have to let Scotland retire and move some guys who are on bigger contracts. I don't know who that is, but its potentially guys in the 23+ age range. Walker, Garlett, Waite? Surely we're not over paying Murphy, Gibbs, Kreuzer, Jamison, Simpson. We recently signed Henderson to a reasonable contract.

With most players on 2 year contracts, 3 at the most (apart from Thomas), its something that should be fixable by the end of next season....if true.

So you were happy to pay Eddie the reported 2 mil over 4 years?

agree paying 2mil for betts was never a good idea so cya later and getting Thomas and Docherty gives us more flexibility, if Thomas ankle is right and Docherty slots in nicely which I think will happen it creates more depth in our midfield and frees someone up from the backline.
also I wanted us to have a few picks in the draft so keeping our first and 1 second rounder is a plus for me.
getting a tall forward is not easy, u either get a gumbleton or a pods or u trade gibbs and ur first rounder for boyd and going by this thread u cant win.

It is hard to believe we have little room in our salary cap, poor management.
There is an article on the AFL website about Hawthorn being ready to swoop as it has about one million dollars spare in its cap after Franklin left. It mentions them using it next year to snare a free agent, Gibbs name was brought up.
The premiers have room but we dont, what a joke.

If Docherty lands at Carlton that surely ends it for Scotto.
