We are chasing player x and nobody knows about it yet. There, I've just said it on live radio.

Call him whatever you like, he has just vomited rhetoric of the obvious. That, to me, is playing the game.

For the record, if anyone wants Casboult, trade him. I don't see him as a regular match winner.

No because we wouldn't be interested in premium.
We are interested in non premiums of course.

Kenny it may be so Doherty's manager doesn't try and put a high price on the contract.

If Docherty wants to come to us then Scotland should be retired so we can use that freed up cash.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a handshake agreement in place for Scotto to retire once the Docherty scenario is agreed to "in principle".

Just remind me who went next in that draft ......that we were going to pick ?.....except for the fact that a "top ten" slipped through to 12?

No mate, was just highlighting what McKay wouldn't say, even if we were. Why would he tell live radio exactly what was going on?

I have a workmate who knows a little bit of stuff now and then (like Buddy to Sydney @ mid season) but no, wouldn't have the foggiest idea who else we may be chasing.

BTW, you should watch your grammar....there are some nazi's on here. ;)

Mentoring our players?
When did Chapman suddenly become Iron man? Its funny that the same posters complaining that Eddie, Yazz and Jeffrey cant play midfield are the same ones wanting to get a 32 year old half forward with dodgy hammys who's past it as a midfield option.

Lets be real here. Murphy averages more contested possessions, more tackles and more 1% ers than Chapman. Yet some of Murphys biggest critics are wanting to get Chappy.
Geelong aren't flicking him for fun. They understand he's taking the place of a young player. FFS, I'm sure some of you trawl around peoples nature strips looking through their hard rubbish.

Maybe they are getting rid of him because he is keeping out younger players who are ready to step up. This just shows how well the cats are developing their list. We are not in the same category. We need leadership and hardness, geelong have buckets of it. We dont yet have young guys crying out to step up. I am all in favour if he rounds off our list for 1-2 seasons while others are developing.

I look at it differently. I dont see that he will keep out a good young bloke. Far from it. We all know the difference between the young bloke in the reserves demanding to be picked eg graham and the young bloke that we hope comes on.... And doesnt. This year mick tried a few out in the senior side, even though they had not demanded it on form. He did this to see what is list was about and to formulate his drafting strategy.
With a chapman in the 22, it says to the young blokes, you need to force your way in . Show the selectors, that you have what it takes. Dont be complacent because the blues of 2014 have hardened up. You cant assume anymore that you will be given a chance. " dont think , Do!" If you dont show us then you will be out the door and your career will be over.
Its all about forcing a behavioural change . Stuff this complacency, spots have to be earned not given away . Having chapman can only help force the youngsters into this new culture
