It is feral Tyrant. On Hamill I would quit too if my boss publicly criticised me over a private matter.
Do people her know the full story on why Campo wants out? Trust me it's more than money.
If the feral mentality makes you feel good then go nuts, after another 3 years we will replace Collingwood as the butt of everyones jokes.

Hamill has Jack to deal with as well as financial whereas Camporeales decision is purely financial gain nothing more and nothing less.

Mate, I'm the first person on here to dig in about our "Management style" being sub-par. Denis, Collo and Malouf are rubbishing the club with some of their actions.... the club we love! And big Jack did it too with Hamill...

I think the point here is that there's more to a club than just its management practices and the money it can pay. And those "other factors" have to come into the player's thinking.

I think more people are angry at Campo for not being at Fev's wedding than anything else!

Everyone effects us (the zealots) directly.... Pagan's plans... Campo quitting... we have every right to be angry and frustrated!

And angry and frustrated doesn't necessarily = feral. its the way it comes out!!!

I hardly think calling Camporeale an "arsehole" is tantamount to spitting on your coach.

Go over the Bomberblitz..... they're hardly complimentary to all their raft of shiteful stars....

There's nothing special about what we're doing, Game. Frustration and anger is synonymous with having an underperforming team. It'll be someone else's turn soon enough.

Its not the word 'arsehole' that I think is feral, it is the fact it is Campo who has played over 200 games and is a premiership player and vice captain of the club. I am more than happy to dump on crap players and poor coaches but not a great servant of the club. The figures some people are putting up here that he is rejecting are way off the mark.

I tried to vote for the wanker who started the poll but I can't

I would have done the same thing if I was in Hamill's position. He at least demanded Saints trade pick 4 and a player. Campo has told the Bummers he would go in the PSD . Why would they trade? All this for an extra $25000 after tax. What a character. Good riddance.

Sorry TheGame. Loyal servants like Silvagni, Kernahan, Southby, Doull dont dump on the club while they are still under contract and screw the club over. Dont call Campo a loyal servant. He played 200 games at Carlton because we paid him heaps and he was top dog in the joint. When the pressure came, he's the first one to fold. Why didnt he ask for a trade last year if it wasnt just about money???

Yes, quite. This kind of thing goes on on SS quite a bit. It's shitful.

Having said that... am fairly surprised at the poll results so far.

well, thats subjective. Many people here believe Campo's performances on the park have let himself and the team down badly, and that his response to this trade week has been poor, compared to a guy like Lappin who's in a pretty similar situation, and may now reach a compromise with the club.

playing 200 games doesn't give you a licence to be a flower. How many games did Beaumont play? Do we still call him a legend of the club who bowed out of AFL gracefully? Or a petty wanker?

Hamill, and now Campo, did/will not leave Carlton on good terms, and that frustrates us... We have every right to be frustrated about this: both at the club and at Campo/Hamill himself.

Ultimately, losing Hamill was a bit blow for Carlton.... and we didn't handle it all that gracefully. If reports are correct (IF!!!) then we've been rather accomodating to Campo, and he's been less so for the club.

On the park Campo is no value and has no place at Carlton. His petulance, to me, makes him an arsehole worth identifying.

AND I'M NONE-TOO-HAPPY WITH MALOUF. COLLO AND PAGAN TOO BY THE WAY!!!!

I loved SOS he was my favorite player growing up but he nearly left us a couple of times for money. In fact if Jack didn't cheat he would of.
same with Braddles.

They're the same, but different.
Hamill at least we got something for, after all he did threaten to sign a stat dec saying that unless we traded he'd go in the PSD.

Hamill by a mile.

To me the motivations of both players leaving are pretty similar. So what is the effect on the club?

Hamill
- left when at his prime
- damaged our 'image' as a club
- we got Livingstone and Cranage in return
- overall Hamill leaving hurt the club.

Camporeale
- leaving when shot as a player
- may help get Lappin over the line
- frees up even more salary cap space which may lure an even better uncontracted player in the PSD
- will burn Essendon*, Sheedy is only after him because he hates Carlton and thinks that getting a 200 game player from Carlton for nothing will hurt us. The joke will be on Sheedy.
- overall Camporeale leaving will probably benefit the club.

Silvagni was the backbone behind Carlton. He is the one player we cant cope without. He was paid the equivalent of a mid range player because Serge wasnt a lackey of John Elliot. He did what he did o get a fair wage. Even then he was grossly underpaid. O'Reilly and Beaumont probably got bigger contracts then SOS

Not doubting SOS didn't deserve his money just saying Campo isn't the only player to look after his own interests first.

Very tough Poll!
Although a Campo fan, i voted for him for the reason that he is leaving a sinking ship. Hammill at least left to a dud team.

It been fairly consistently preached all year by some and then elements of the flock have followed.

Apparently Campo's salary went up by the post on here for a while too. :garthp:
