They're called serifs.

But not here. Notches dammit! I thought we settled this 6 years ago?

Remember Michael Corleone’s first wife in The Godfather? Apollonia? That's whose serifs they remind me of.

Lovely pair of serifs.

You're right - they're serifs. Fonts are divided into serif fonts and sans serif fonts.

The "notches" logo is made up of letters using a serif font.

Thanks for that. You put my 20+ year graphic design career to shame.

Refer to bluehammer's comment.

Did you crop that pic?
Why?
I can't see the point.

I think they've done a good job.

Now to get this painted on the roof of the Gardiner Stand.

No cropping...no need to use a raunchier one on a family site. If you've seen that film, those serifs should have left an indelible impression.

Don't think you're entirely right. Serifs are the perpendiculars at the top and bottom of M, N, L, J, T, P etc. Given these are in the middle of the C, it's a decorative item rather than a particular thing like a serif.

One day I will get to see this guernsey pictured below again I hope...but I can live with the current one as long as they win I guess.

Still would be nice to be linked to the champions of Carlton in a closer way...wouldn't it be great if Troy Menzel (wearing the number 2 guernsey) had on his guernsey in white the names of those who have worn the number two for 100 games (either on the front or the back of the guernsey)

P Daykin
D McIntyre
J Nicholls
G Williams
etc

Then the player who is wearing number 5, 6, 7 etc does the same.

Part of me thinks Carlton looks too far backwards and not enough to the future - as per Hawthorn. We are being left behind by the Hawks. Trading on past glories...still I guess 150 years doesn't come around too often and makes you realise how much greater the Carlton football club is compared to any soccer or rugby league team here or overseas in terms of longevity.

Yep, needs some Apollonia action on the centre left of the outer C.

Still, it's good to see some old skool charm (the good kind) being embraced by the club.

If only we kept the old logo and a commissioned new and exciting brand to lead the board!

I wonder what they paid the agency for the year they spent coming up with it?
