Lets hope we get Thomas .. at least thats one constructive thing MM will have done this year after an incredibly second rate performance where a series of younger coaches outpointed him. Not to mention the gigantic stuff ups at the selection table and with player management.

If we do lose Betts, Robinson and Yarran, tricky Micky will have played a significant role in their downfall.

2 more years to go ... hopefully.

I hope he gets a two year extension. I enjoy your posts too much. Also, schadenfreude is alive and well in my world.

Dont worry .. hes not going anywhere...

just understand this... Mich will leave when Mick wants to leave...

Get your head around that one...
bitch n moan all you want...

sticks hired him for 3 years... for while juddy is here... ... one year is gone.. and mick is rebuilding .. restructuring...this isnt about his next 2 seasons...

sit down and get used to it... consider him as your wife from now on....
you might not like her.. but shes around forever!!!... divorce is too costly.. and besides youre not confident you can do better!!!

Thats right ... he will stay ... how many years was it at Collingwood before they won a premiership. Well ... we can only hope he retire when the contract finishes ... at least there will only be 3 years of destruction.

he will be at carlton for as long as he likes.
when he leaves it will be his choosing

u do realise... he was at collingwood for 1 flag in 11 seasons and 4 GFs

Carltons best in that time was 1 semi final...

And lost them both.

..yes, lost them both.. ..with very ordinary team that [team on paper] should never have beaten the better teams to even reach the granny.. ..and lost to a champion team both times sure, mind you.. ..the first loss they were very close and could have nearly won it, aside from some last quarter team lifting/saving play from voss and co.

Buckley dragged them over the line and made Mick look good in 2002/3.

.....well come on apparently that is what Judd did for Ratts 2010 -2011. :|

yeah not bad that buckley guy

we gave judd over a million a year for 2 finals win in 6 years..waste of money!!!.. was that Ratts idea??

We needed Kennedy and another pick in the top 5 we could have traded for a young mid and still had pick 20..

Ratts was coach wasnt he????

Tricky Micky certainly embarrassed himself this year ... not only did he get overwhelmingly outcoached ... his dramatic performances in the box showed that he really would have made a splendid actor. No control ... no resolve ... setting a terrible example for the players. No wonder Betts, Robinson, Yarran and Laidler want to hit the road. Man management was crazy and at the selection table he was bewildering.

And the super duper coach (who thought this was a very good team at the start of the year) managed to scrape up 11 games in the home and away. Awful performance.

Roll on 2016 ... then it will take another 10 years to fix the damage. (Damn ... I hope not ... I am getting old)

2 teams with a hell of a lot more skill in the disposal stakes as well....makes a big difference controlling the ball.

Nope.

Controlled and focussed messages at all times.

When tv shows him going off it is ONLY after having calmly delivered a message repeatedly and seeing it ignored. He then goes off. He then re-focuses and is calm almost instantly and delivers even messages. Not many better at keeping an even focus on what's occurring.

I've listened to a couple of Malthouses previous assistants speaking and what they've said completely contradicts that.

I thought Betts wants to leave for more $$$$$ and longer term, what does that have to do with MM?

skill level under pressure is one of our biggest problems

due to a mixture of physical and mental deficiencies in our team/list

did you notice how often the play under pressure was one touch football

we fumble and bomb

I would hate to think what we would have seen if there was so much attention given to what was happening in the coaches boxes back in the day of coaches like Barassi and Parkin

The other difference is there were no 'forced' press conferences directly after a loss back in the day either, if a coach didn't feel he was ready to face the media after a bad day he would just say no to any request.

No excuse for the tantrum with the water bottle. Reminded me of a two year old in a supermarket or a drunken fan after a grand final loss. The stomping out on the ground looking for a player to eyeball at quarter time looks like he is playing it up for the cameras too.
These are things the club should get him working on if he is going to stick around for a while like Synbad reckons.
They should also encourage him to find a modern gameplan. If he smashes water bottles when that encouragement comes then he should be encouraged into retirement.
