Hey - don't blame me because you have Waite at CHB, Murphy in the pocket, Graham 1st rover, McInnes - half back and no interchange players in our best team for 2014!!!!

Here's a hint:
Graham hasn't played a game yet.
Jamison, Watson & McInnes are our KP defenders "at the moment".
Waite cannot play back anymore
MURPHY is our best on baller by the country mile and
I'm glad you have kept Simmo in the back pocket because he just belongs there.

How is that for input!!!!!

Gee and thought you didn't have an understanding of the modern game.

My apologies. Well stated.

This is why I don't bother. The modern game has a half back line of Bootsma - Waite - McInnes, does it?

If your going to debate an argument and not play the man, please explain why you have this as a HALF BACK LINE? Hint: McInness plays tall and does not do enough rebounding right now. I'll let you fill in the rest, if you can but I have a feeling you'll keep playing the man and not what is being discussed.

Playing the man??? I'm agreeing with you.

I'm sorry about the HB line. I just saw them as a young version of Mackie, Taylor & Enright. Size, run and class.
Bootsma was recruited as a running HB, is a very good ball user and its where he played his best football as a junior. Waite's best and most consistent footy was at CHB and McInnes (who I sponsor) sees that role as his future.

Your logic and knowledge of the game has won me over.

Some people just can't take a compliment.

It has been discussed that Waite might play down back for the sake of keeping Hendo forward.
I am predicting Lucas with an injury-free year to find a spot in our 22.
Tuohy to spend more time on the ball. The question marks are on Scotland, will he play next year, where to play Waite, who will be our small forwards and who takes a BP position on the small forwards. Is McInness the guy?
B: ? Jamison McInness
HB: Walker ? Simpson
C: Armfield Murphy Gibbs
HF: ? Henderson Judd
F: ? ? ?
Foll: Kreuzer McLean Tuohy
Int: ? Carrazzo Curnow Lucas

 - I knew you were going to highlight the Waite statement.
Psyc - I'm not convinced this will be he's long term position. For mine and I've always said it he should be the 3rd man forward. But lets waite ( ) and see.

No point tabling out a best 22 now.

1. Trade week will change things
2. The pre-season will change things again.
3. At a longer shot, the Drafts may also have some say in matters.
4. Inevitably injury will also come into account.

Way too early.

I came here to see if anybody has Graham in our best 22 after 40 minutes of footy.

Thankfully not yet.

Just an update with the ever changing environment.

2014 could look like??

B: Temay Jamison McInnes
HB: Walker Watson Simpson

Foll: Kruezer Gibbs Murphy
C: Tuohy McLean Thomas

HF: Menzel Henderson Graham
F: Judd Waite Staker

Int from: Warnock Carrazzo Pick 12 Cross Bootsma Bell

Maybe Hallahan, Lambert?

It's okay but some real class and depth is required.

Not really sure. A week ago I would of said yes but talk is very little interest.

Be very interesting to see what happens with them and Lucas. If we look to trade we don't have much else.

..would rather we look to develop.. ..there's a player in each of them, Jeffy the most proven, Yazz the most upside, and Lucas i thought was improving this year in regards to his tackling efforts and eagerness to take a hit.. ..still a way to go, but we're not exactly flush with stars.. ..reckon we can get more out of developing these 3 further, than we will at trade table..

Maybe. In all honesty I don't know.

The issue I have is the modern game is so much about rotations, running options and flexibility around the ground.

Love to see Yarran develop into a running wingman who can push forward and back but I doubt his "engine" and his ability to run to the right spots and find the ball.

Garlett is very limited in what he can do and I'm not sure that MM rates Lucas that highly. The fact that he couldn't even get on the emergency list in the finals when we clearly lacked run and rotations says to me MM had given up on him.

Only time will tell but nothing will surprise me over the next month or so.

..i thought Jeffy's early season form was very good, not just being run in stints thru the middle but his work as a high half fwd was strong, needs more miles in the legs to carry that form/work rate thru the full season.. .... ..i thought Yazz late in the year was beginning to try and work harder, tried to be more accountable.. ..i don't buy into the arguement that he cannot develop a tank.. ..he may not become the elite sort, but he ought to reach onballer afl standard i think.. ..i think wing is his best position, allows him to run and carry and be more involved consistently in general play.. .... ..Lucas i thought was tracking well, and will improve.. ..not sure if with us or elsewhere but he has improvement in him definitely..

I'm curious. What have you seen in Temay so far that makes you think he's going to be in our best side next year?

Ditto

I don't think Staker is what we need. Unless we need average.
Doesn't go in hard enough. Half hearted child. IMO.

We need big bodies in the midfield if we are going to improve..that was so obvious against the Swans....but that's another discussion. Tuohy inclusion helps but Brock got creamed

My reasoning for it is that he fills a spot we struggle with. I also spoke with his U/18 coach during the year who was adamant that if he is to make it in the AFL that is his spot. Doesn't see him as a pure midfielder unless locking down on someone.

Am I sure he's in our best side? No, but if he can fill that spot it will be very helpful.

With Betts leaving, it would seem wise to me get Walker forward again. He was excellent down back this year but he provides a great lead up target. The good teams have numerous mid size targets to compliment the tall timber.
Swans smashed us with theirs, the Hawks and Geelong have more than their fair share.

Our defensive issues force us to play players down back that should really be rotating forward/mid for the game.
Hopefully Temay can come on a bit as his disposal looks solid.
