Please get it straight... i didnt use my maths.. im relaying what sources from within the club have said to me.

One premium with Eddie leaving...

Do your sources know what's happening during trade time already???

Unlikely.............we have room in the cap and I didnt say anything about getting x number of "premiums", I just said we have room to move if the right players are interested.

If Eddie did stay we'd fit Daisy in no probs......................but Eddie's probably not staying!

We lack the balls, and he has a year to run on a contract with the Cats - but I would offer Shane Kersten seriously good coin to leave Kardinia Park. I'm talking $825k over 3 years. Yep...I'd do that for a kid that hasn't played a senior AFL game. As I said...we lack the balls. But if you want a full-forward capable of doing some things that Brendan Fevola did - there's your man.

Would do it in a heartbeat

so the salary cap is 9.14 million

you have to pay 95% minimum so 8.68 mill min

over 43 players

so minimum average of approx $200k per player

min rookie i think is $50k

min listed player i think is 80K

i cant be bothered just now guessing salaries across 43 players

but its not hard to see how with a little mismanagement and over paying a handful of players you could hamstring yourself quite quickly and run out of money

We will see how things pan out - depends how desperate things become (wouldnt want to ruin a big party next year), but as we both know our success wont be determined on our ability to buy a player at top market price anyway!

yeah im not sure how people think they have their maths right..
when in fac t we dont know what players are on.. who is backloaded... and whats been promised...

we also have players coming out of contract each year.... and they need to be signed up...

we dont know... what judd is on.. we got a media story...

im saying what i hear from a verrrrrry good source.. and people here are trying to convince me they can count.

Also ... psych calls me a dick.. lol.. cos he reckons he has sources ... (newpaper )

we woudnt know how to count it from the outside..... we didnt think we were choca block last year either..

Agree about getting Shane kersten, kid can play..
I have no idea about $$ for our cap, but if we are
struggling, someone needs to be held accountable...
If we get Thomas, and our $$ is tight, we are paying
overs for too many donkeys.....
If we could land,
Thomas, kersten and maybe shuey or Adams,
and keep our first pick I would be very happy..
But knowing carlton, we will pick up gumbleton,
Morris and didak....
fingers crossed, we pick up players who can play...

I wonder if we'll announce our de-listings today and make a late change tomorrow afternoon.

There's no hurry. But I expect Davies, Joseph, Mitchell, Collins, Dale, O'Keeffe and Buckley (delist and re-rookie) to be announced this week and up to three (but probably two) others will be traded. Curnow should be elevated to the senior list. Bell should be the nominated rookie.
