No Cazz, please don't do that. If anything i think we'd like you to post more about your insights on recruiting and players.

They are highly valued.

Seems to be the plan in the second half of games.

Not sure why the first halves are off limits.

New recruits

Which forwards are we bringing in who are capable of kicking 20-40 goals?

Does it matter? The current group aren't good enough.

You're right Effes. Lets just stick with the mediocre group we have.

You reckon a forward line of Henderson, Watson, Menzel, Garlett, Waite, Kruezer, Casboult, Buckley plus an even spread from mids and of addition of Thomas and another tall isn't a better option?

The season has shown us that we lack the tall forwards necessary to be successful in September.

We have Henderson as our only reliable tall forward - Waite is injury prone and suspension prone; Casboult cannot kick and lacks mobility. Both are too unreliable.

Henderson also partners well with Jamison.

The lack of quality KP players at Carlton is getting to crisis levels given the issues with Jamison (shoulders), Waite and Casboult. Also Waite is turning 31 in February.

Watson showed some positive signs in the second half of the year but there are huge question marks about his ability to play on big tall forwards.

This issue cannot be ignored.

I would like Betts and those you've mentioned (as well as drafting a tall forward, preferably early).

Can't disagree with this. Problem is the last few years all the good ones have been gone by our pick, and the ones we get are either poorly developed or have limitations that can't be weeded out. Then there's JK.

I hope we make a big play for Boyd or even Patton for that matter. Hell, even Jesse White looked much better than what we have.

1 out of 4.

If I rehashed Synbad I'd be asking us to concentrate on midfielders in the draft.

If we had had a poll as to whether we'd ahve taken 6th at the start of the year, I reckon most would have been happy.
OK it was 9th but we did win a final and learned more from losing one.
We had more scoring shots tonight but cocked them up as usual.
The players who went missing tonight aren't on the list above, they're n this one here
Murphy insipid game and proves he can't play with a tag
Judd probably still injured
Warnock too slight for tonight's game with two heavyweight opponents
Betts no excuses
Garlett ditto
Casboult ditto
McLean probably still injured
Touhy no excuses
Bell got it but needs more games under his belt
Robbo no excuses
Duigan no excuses
They're the leaders with a few exceptions.

Of those, I reckon only Duigan will go. I'd trade Warnock as well, despite his two good games in a row. Tonight he didn't take one mark again.
Robbo is on thin ice as well.

The issuee I'm trying to make is that even if we get rid of half the list, they will stil be there to show the way to the newbys. On tonght's stage, I think a few of them would be a bit embarrassed. We are a bottom half of the eight side and if we are to climb into the top two some of the favourites will have to be traded.

If MM is going to persist with a long kicking down the line plan, we need a strong marking forward. Simple as that. His game was based arounf Cloke taking his six to ten marks a game. Waite can do it but not every week. Hendo might be able to but not every week. Casboult might be able to but to what end? Do we go all out for Boyd? We might have to but hen we wouldn't have anyone left to kick it to him.

It's a serious lproblem, the lack of a quality tall forward. Hampson and Kreuzer look like the next best options and they're both rucks.

In a week we'll have a better idea, after mad Monday and the first wave of delistings.

Bye Eddie. It's been nice. Now bring on Daisy.

Not likely unless a suitable trade is offered and I am not sure they have enough currency. With Eddie going Yarran will stay.

You may have to add Buckley to that list. A poster on BF says he hasnt been offered a new contract and Jimmy is not happy.
