That sets you up for when you do have the ball.....

Forget about hard running...when we win the ball they won't be used because the players are instructed to bomb it long.

#2 long kicking side this season.

So if you have someone running hard next to you the instruction is to bomb it long - who cares if it is 3 on 1 or 4 on 1 up forward. Kick long as if Tippett and Carey are there.

Worked last week and the week before!!
It's simple - they are a better team than us - willing to work harder than us

There is a reason why we finished 9th and 8 weeks ago we spoke about trading 10 players- tonight is the proof- we are not that good

We should have won this we didn't, we finished ninth and made it to the second week of the finals. That's where we're at, several players out there aren't in our best team. Port Adelaide showed us how to play finals last night

too many mid-fielders with poor skills and awareness - Bell is doing well but his kicks are pointless, like those of Robbo, Armfield, McGuiness, etc. We need Gibbs and Murphy to get a lot of it as we dont have many elite kicks

At the packs the Swans show intent and hardness

Outside they run and run and run

Our players have quite simply been insipid in every respect

Swans have put on a clinic in every respect

The leadership we saw last week is non existent this week. Club need to be fair dinkum and make sweeping changes. It's not just about the shit players, it's about changes at the so called top end too because the top end aren't good enough. The leadership is not good enough

Judd has struggled like a lot of players do 2nd game up after injury.

I suspect the 6 day break vs 8 day break contributed to this.
We've had two very taxing games - hardly surprising if a few are bit flat.

It's all the blind kicks that annoys me.

Not sure why the game plan hasn't been tweaked at all as the games progressed.

9 goals down and it's pretty soul destroying.....we've never looked like taking charge.

Lol
You have to have pressure on the ground to have the game played to a level you can compete.
You can't compete if you're not running two ways the game us okayed in your half.... That means you're not going to transfer the ball properly and link it.
Talking about the gameplan if your competitive side is low is ridiculous

We bomb it because of their work rate forcing us to get it out if here.

I bet even our tackle count us pathetic.

When we have it from a mark all we do is bomb.

Good teams have the option to bomb but they also look sideways and also often go the 45° kick into the middle to open the game up.

#2 long kicking team suggests the players have been instructed to kick long even under no pressure.

Sterile game plan not suited to the list.

Great point right there. "This will be their last memory of their time at Carlton"....

Work rate was poor in first half and spent as a result.
Midfield skill level not up to scratch.
Too Midfielders with tanks but no skill FFS.

Tackling not good enough still needs work.

Very frustrating :banghead:

And Luke Darcy just SHUT THE F$&K how did he get a contract. I'd give Terry Walace a gig at Carlton before I'd give Darcy a gig commentating :banghead: :hitcomputer:

Watch the first half last week and tell me how we moved the ball and compare it to the second half.

Same with the Port game.

Long kicking to no one in the first half, risk taking, running and carrying in the second half.

He's done it on quite a few occasions - abandoned his unproductive gameplan and gone to the style which suited the list. We have a quick list but we don't play based on our strengths.

This is about work rate.
Look at the stats end of game.
Starts with the leadership players
Murphy
Gibbs
Simpson
Walker
Jameson
Waite
Betts
Duigan.
Judd

Nothing to do with anything but work rate.
