Weather is strange, but its not going to be too wet. Well, no huge downpour to stuff up the game.

We had our first rain on the coast for a month at 3.40 this morning...I walked home through that drizzle. It was nothing.

Might be some rain, and it might be a bit slippery and not really a big mans game, but the downpour last time we played them didnt stop Tippett from marking.

Lets hope the grass is cut to 25mm this morning as its sunny.

This time around we have the strong bodies to counter the Swans midfield brigade:

Gibbs
Judd
Murphy
Robinson
Scotland
McLean
Tuohy
Duigan
Bell
Curnow

Only Carrazzo missing

Pace to burn is just our trump card if we find a way to exploit:

Judd
Murphy
Yarran
Garlett
Armfield
Walker
Simpson
Bell...if he can improve on his awareness

The ducks seem to have lined up for us except for the injury to Kreuzer.

The Swans will go in harder than hard, and I'm expecting them to fade.
They have heaps missing from their best line up, and if McVeigh joins Goodes on the side lines that is one huge bonus for us because I reckon he's the heart and soul along with Jude, and hopefully Jude's injury flares up because his resilience is just...unbelievable.

Nervous...Swans are disciplined...we might be too as we've shown at critical times in the last month.

Carlton by 20 points....................I hope....and we should.

Agree. This is finals and tonight the Swans will throw everything they have at us. Last week would of hurt and they are a club that prides themselves on an even workrate and never getting belted.

The bonus for us is they are struggling. There better players are either carrying injuries or down on form and they have had to bring in kids with little experience.

We however are starting to find some belief. Gibbs, Murphy, Warnock are playing their best football of the year.

If they can continue and we can get even contributions across the ground we will be right in it. Need to be in touch at halftime.

Curnow on Jack and maybe Armfield on OKeefe? With Duigan in like to see him as a defensive HF on Malceski and make him work hard the other way. With Shaw inj and Everitt in Malceski is their set up guy from HB. Need to close him down.

How Walker & Simpson can play will have a big influence on result.

I really think it will go down to the wire and be a classic.

Blues by 5 points.

Current temp 20. Mild consistent breeze from the sw. Almost perfectly blue sky above the stadium. Beautiful day for footy

I reckon this is critical, particularly in reference to the first two. In Gibbs' case I'd argue best football for the Blues ever. If that continues tonight we're in with a chance.

The key to today is playing the game on our terms. If we can tackle well and put pressure on the Swans when they have the ball then we are half a chance. We then need to use our advantage in speed to open them up. Need to be proactive and take the game on with link play. Let's hope we don't simply bomb it forward. Otherwise, if the game is played at a slower tempo then I think we are in trouble as the Swans are the best at playing tempo footy. Their inside warriors love the stoppages and also have pretty good skills. I would also put a hard tag on Hanneberry. He is their most important player.

You do realise this continual winning is costing us top drafts picks?

How can we be a good club without tanking?

Bloody Malthouse again.

If Ratten was coach we would be Premiership favourites. That has been proven by people on here. MM has been lucky. You can't dispute it.

If we play like how we started against them earlier in the year then we will be.

If it rains just cover the ball, keep it in front and kick the thing!

Calling what came out of the sky at the SCG earlier this year "rain", doesn't do it justice.

It looked like the water was coming up from under the ground as well.

Previously I would of agree Snickers but wiser people than me have proved me wrong.

Yarran is a gun. His last three weeks have been huge. A matchwinner. Showing the form from U12s that made us pick him.

Betts is as good a CHF or FF we have in the game, worth every penny of $600k p.a and

Garlett. Playing wing and helping midfield then running half the ground and kicking goals when it matters.

WOW.

The only issue is Malthouse. If it wasn't for him we'd win. He worries me.

Our hope is the Three Amigo's get 60 possession and 10 goals between them as usual. If they do we will win!
