The marriage between malthouse and Carlton was consummated today.

I was there, I saw it.

I like to watch.

Don't get this rush behind free that Mitch gave away. 1 metre out from the goal line, heaps of players around, that's under pressure in my eyes...
If the score were level and there was only seconds left in the match and Ivan Maric punches the ball out of a ruck contest on the full through for a point is it a free kick to us or does the point stand...

You cannot punch the ball through the posts (goals or behinds) on the full from a ball up within 10meters of the posts - been a rule for a few quite a few years now. Someine needs to send Robbo a copy of the AFL rules for him to read over the summer!

Better make it an audio book.
(I forgive him though. )

Unbelievable, what a fantastic win.
How ironic, to finish 9th , get elevated into the 8 and then knock off Richmond.

I agree with others. Most emjoyable win since 99 prelim and 95 GF.

Most statisfied with Gibbsy. And Murph, and Warnock showed he is our best ruckman - Kruize needs to find another string to his bow.
ANd it took 22 weeks, but we finally learnt we need some hard bodies, ala Duigan and Bell in the team. We need another 2 hard nuts, but with better skills to compete with the hawks.

Someone just said we will finish ahead of Essendon***, Collingwood, Richmond on the ladder. Haha
anyone who didn't think MM could coach is kidding themselves.

List isn't looking so bad now is it?

No one should be under any illusions. We are still about five very good players short of where we should be, and that's just counting the starting 22 and not the ones we need to be developing in the 'twos'.

Still don't rate the tigers as some on here. They rely too much on their top half dozen.
And it aint crap that playing 5 teams twice is a joke.

The positions teams finish at the end of the 22 games can be misleading particularly from 5 onwards.

Its not the best win since the 99 prelim
That is such a stupid statement
I want us to take a big scalp.
If we don't beat Sydney the season has been a failure in my view.
Simple as that
I want to see these blokes beat a top 4 team
no flower excuses.
I thought we would win today.

Next week is where it really counts
Period
If any supporter thinks otherwise they accept average yearly performances
Just ask King Kerna

The quality of the opposition was not top 10 of the all-time best, but EF at the G in front of 95,000 against Richmond (who are smug cauliflower) coming from 5 goals down - this is the best win since 1999.

If you think differently, you're not a Carlton supporter.

What a special win. There is one thing about CFC - we love to spoil the Bitchmond party on their biggest days!!!!
This list is good enough people. We just need to BELIEVE and 1 more KP player.
I'm so proud being a Carlton supporter today, I'm so proud of Juddy, Murph, Gibbs, Waite, Simmo and comp.
Most importantly my kids finally understand what Carlton does on the big stage and why I love the BLUES so much!!!!
GO BAGGERS....keep going - it's going to get tougher from now on in though.

Just back from the game now, I got nothing left, I'm emotionally spent.

Just settling down to watch the replay on Fox Footy, because actually I can't remember much about today except singing the song about 5 times at the end.

I can't handle close games. I had to get up and pace around to burn up some nervous energy.

Anyone questioning MM's coaching should now admit they were wrong.

This is an average list with lots of deficiencies and also lots of injuries at the moment yet we still find a way to win.

We are developing a hard edged defensive style that will benefit us into the future not to mention a winning mentality.

Putting us later and later in the draft though.

The players you've been kicking all season showed once again they have heart and character.
No amount of talking shit or deflection can change that. when Malthouse goes out and wins a hard ball or gets a kick, get back to me.

Voice is still hoarse.

Have not yelled so much for a long, long time.

Every house in the street would have heard.

Jon Ralph has shown more professionalism in one article than pretty much every journo who follows Esseondon!

No, it isn't. Next you will be telling us playing for ninth is "good enough".

Last kick of the warm up  Surely no gamesmanship....

I thought Hardwick said in the pre-game interview that he'd noticed McLean hadn't taken a single kick in the warm-ups. That and the towel thrown over the camera in the CFC dressing room suggest to me we always intended a last-minute switcheroo.
