..reckon the Menz is stayin' as well.. ..smart, creative med fwds can be very difficult match-ups, which i think he already is.. .... ..becoming more involved in the play with each game..

Menzel a definite starter. Be very good for his development to experience a final at this level. I suspect Casboult and Duigan will come out. I expect McLean to play. Judd and Scotland will know if they are right and hopefully they are wise enough to make the right call.

A few years ago, I wanted Aaron Edwards. I rate him. If he doesn't get the fight opponent he will mark everything in reach. This is a worry for us.
They have three genuine marking forwards.

I reckon Walker will go to Edwards and if he does, I hope he runs him ragged because for all his marking and kicking skills, i don't think he is very quick and we can benefit from that.
We know Jamo can hole Reiwoldt if he plays well so that leaves Vickery. Waite or Henderson will have to pay on him. Waite has the athleticism but he isn't as good at either end of the ground as hendo on current form. Robbing Peter to pay Paul here.

Their midfield is much better than ours and we can only hope Curnow does a number on Cotchin again but we can't really expect Cotchin, Lids and Martin to play badly again all on the same night.

I am hoping we aon't have Gibbs and Murphy playing bad games together either. IIR Murphy was just tagged out of the game against them last month and Gibbs had his usual bland outing.

To me, the ruck is the key to winning and losing this game. Last week, Warnock had a good last quarter and his attempts to get the ball away from the contest made the difference. His feeble taps to his own feet just make for congested play and more clearances and Richmond will kill us if we play that way. IMO we have to play like we did in the last quarter of last week right from the opening bounce. Get the ball into space and run. Let Yarran loose in space. His mum will be watching and he will have his confidence up sky high after a few good games in a row and a blinder second half last week.

Nobody thinks we should be there.
Everybody thinks we are making up the numbers.
Sam Newman actually had the temerity to say we are Essendon* in an away strip. Thyat alone should be anough for the boys to come out firing.

Oh! PLEASE don't play Judd if he isn't up to it. Or any of the others. Hendo looked very proppy in that video above and he might not get up.

I want us to win. We should have beaten them twice this season. he forst round we kicked ourselves out of it. e need to come out fast and kick straight. If we are with them at half time, we should win because they are one of the fastest teams outof the blocks in the comp and showed us that last time with 8-2 in the first.

I haven't mentioned Kreuzer but he is in for a biggie after his first game back last week, which was ordinary.

Win or lose, they have to have a crack. They have thrown away every other important game this season. This is it. Win or oblivion.

I think gibbs and murphy have run into form at the right end of the season. Unfortunately no carazzo and probably no judd to go with them. This leaves our midfield skills wise a bit thin. I expect much better games from cotchin deledio and martin though. If we are lucky we will draw even with them. Lets hope warnock continues on from last week.
Rheiwalt brings others into the match so its not just about goals he scores.
Henderson and waite worry me. They seem to be lapsing into average firm. Hope this turns around in sunday.
Jamos shoulders are a but proppy atm, fingers crossed.
Garlett betts and yarran seems to be peaking...good signs
Can bell make cotchin his bitch again? It will be fun watching him try.

If its wet conditions on Sunday, which at this stage is likely, that d take away any advantage their marking forwards might have.

It says isolated shower possible, I don't think rain will be a factor

That's it - no rain during game. The showers won't come until late.

.....but he was standing still dishing off handpasses to players running passed. One after the other. No strapping on legs though.

My vibe is that we are too inconsistent and flakey to win this one. Richmond seem much more solid. Not convinced of Warnock's value around the ground as he struggles to mark the ball. Gibbs and Murphy need to play out of their skins, Yarran must give more than a highlight reel (and kicks straight), Eddie and Jeffy maintain forward pressure (also kick straight) and the "very good" Jarred Waite turns up to play as opposed to the other version that we see too often.

I'd keep Casboult in and drop Warnock. More flexibility.

IMO when you have a clear advantage over your opposition in a key area of the game, you don't give that up. Warnock gets his hand on the footy more often than not. Kreuzer is brilliant below his knees and in a contested situation.

We can win this game with smart use of these two big fellas.

Wet Sunday we don't need all the talls.
Casboult offers more variety and can hurt the opposition, very important in finals.

I'm quite happy for the Tigers to be pumped up. Just adds to the expectations on them.

They've had a pretty good year no doubt and well and truly deserve to start favourites. But I reckon they still have some demons.

Get off to a good start, create some doubt and you just never know. Especially as we all know we play well without much expectation.

If we were being pumped up like this, I'd be terrified. Even more than normal

Casboult also has a history of doing well in finals (albeit @ VFL level) - hopefully someone makes malthouse aware of this
