No doubt Judd, Scotland and McLean will all be named in an extended squad on Thursday and retained on Saturday... only to drop out of the team when sheets are submitted at 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

We do love playing ducks and drakes at selection...

doesnt mean he is ideal...or i like him... but from what we have... on a big MCG and the fizz out of the game in the last it will suit him..... plus Tgers are not a fair dinkum finals team....they are making up the numbers

You can tell i dont rate them... id bring Lucas in this week....For Casboult!!!

Lucas as sub just sounds right.

Wouldn't be the least bit surprised should that be the case.
Run got us back into the game on Saturday and can't see why it wouldn't be a weapon this Sunday.

+1 Clearly have to run and carry more instead of bombing it long and be caught on the rebound. I think we need to start with Hendo back until the game settles down and then switch with Waite. Tigers go tall in the forward line and we need to be careful.

Calls to bring in Laidler are a bit silly.

Calls to drop Menzel are a bit silly.

Team needs stability so a couple of changes at most and I'm talking bringing big players in.

McLean for bell
Judd for ellard

Just as examples.

Not sure what type of game this will be.

Are the Tigers capable of playing one-on-one pressure football?
I can't say I've seen them do it this year, although they did play a very good game against the WCE at Patersons which looked close.

IMO, I think we can play more accountable football OR we can play attacking football, but in finals you need to be able to do both.

Not sure if either team is up to it against the top 4 or Collingwood.

My gut feel is we are more likely to play well than the Tigers, but who knows.

hopefully, "the process" that Mick has been banging on about all year will come to fruition this week. Because that's what its been about-being able put in place a plan to win finals matches.

I'm enjoying the general level of optimism around TC at the moment, especially Synbad's confidence.

But.....unfortunately I just don't see it happening on Sunday.

Richmond remind me of us in 2011. They are a legitimate finals team, but definitely not a legitimate premiership threat. I see them making fairly light work of us (if ever a team was 'making up the numbers' it has to be us, taking into account the situation with Essendon* etc) and then an honourable loss in the semi, followed by a summer of hype, then they get ahead of themselves and (hopefully) don't make the 8 next year...

Tigers by at least 5 goals. Carlton to be a much better side next year....

We need to play one on one football throughout the game. No extra players behind the ball.
We not only play our best football when we do this but that is what finals footy is all about.
Richmond can't do that. I have not seen them do this at any time during the year.
I'm quitely confident we can win but also deeply concerned of the way we have been playing lately.

Yeah, yeah.
You've been talking us down all year. God forbid we'll win a final or 2 hey?
How disappointing. Go back to sucking lemons.

ill call it now.. if we bring in judd and mclean we have less chance of winning.

i dont see how theyre cherry ripe.. and judd doesnt chase back...

the balance was right last week except we cant afford to go in to a game with 2 unknowns in our forward ine.. that will mean bomb and pray hail mary stuff...casboult needs to make way for a runner (Lucas...)
if scotland is right.. hes the other change for ellard.

big ground.. more seasoned finals players and a coach.

no excuses !!!

theyre not that good.

just sit on cotchin and martyn

curnow and tuohy are the perfect 2

and everyone mentally bullies us... but we mentally bully richmond...

stick it up their arses!!!.. and keep them our btches!!!

The shitty part about being so negative is that one can actually forget to enjoy the game.
Comes a time you have to ask yourself: What For? Is all I want a flag and anything short is a failure?
There are better hobbies around than to just suck lemons, savage on the club for the losses and take the victories as some sort of right. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me.

I'm confident we can win this and win it well should we attack the player and ball like there's no tomorrow.
Our speed should scare these guys and if we bring along the same aggression as for the last quarter of the Port game, you can put your glasses down.
If not...........well, we know the story. You'd just want it to be a far more aggressive off-season than for the last 2 we have had. It has to be regardless.

What are you on about?

Read my post again. What makes you think I'm happy about the fact I don't think we'll win? Trust me, nobody wants us to win more than I do.

Am I being negative? I'm saying we'll be a better team than Richmond next year.

And I said at the start of the year we'd finish either just inside the 8 or just outside of it....what a wild and unrealistically negative prediction that was...

this reckless style of footy cant win flags.. no flower way... would u run as freely as that against the good teams...(as we have seen over the years)
but richmond is not a good side... i hope where we are right now.. we dont start hugging the boundary.. cos we are not going to win a flag this year.. and the players arent going to suddenly do it well.... but we can kick the absolute shit out of richmond by playing our run ....just kick chunks out of them!!!!
