I for one refuse to go into next week with any negativity, looking forward to the chance of raining on Richmond's parade

hope we do...but we do need to recruit gun mids too...!!!

Not sure about Mick's comments regarding the rucks. Kreuzer's effort, contest to contest, was in another universe compared to Warnock's. If Kreuze was 100% fit you'd play him solo with Hendo supporting at stoppages, but right now you have to play both of them.

Would rather Kreuzer and Casboult over Kreuzer and Knockers.

for me, we are in the finals and that's all that matters, despite the frustrating but eventually enjoyable win today!

still, it would be juicily ironic if Richmond in their first reasonable season for a long time exited in one set courtesy of "Ninthton" (thanks to the bummers)

Go Blues!

Really ordinary three quarters but brilliant last quarter
Very gutsy win
Still 3or 4 good players short of being a good team
First 3 quarters amateurish
Good win without McLean carrazzo judd
Good experience Mcinnes bell Menzel
Gibbs and murthy very good
Need to settle hendo at chf
Much better chris yarran
Jeffy over 40 goals for the year excellent

Nice throw by port to set up last goal by Wingard
Finals you beauty thanks bummers
Free kick next week we should just enjoy

The Duchess went out at 3/4 time. She has since told me that despite being down by 30 points, I told her we were still a good chance ( I can't remember saying that, probably because I was heavily in 'the zone') - she left thinking I was insane, 30 minutes later I texted her the result. She was sure I was taking the piss.

Did it in round 1 against the Tigers.

Started with the bomb bomb bomb game plan....this week started with the extra tall and the bomb bomb bomb plan.

Then threw it all out the window - subbed off the tall, instructed them to take risks through the corridor - Yarran wing/HB. Use by hand. Play on....open the game up.

Pretty @#$%&! simple.

His stubbornness cost us the game against STK, almost lost it tonight.

A shame he can't put his ego to one side and play a team and style that suits the players from the start.

This is a run and carry team....it doesn't have Tippett Carey or Cloke.

We might win the next week running but we will never break into the top four with that style. That style is ok for bottom teams in the eight......

Depends what we're aiming at doing.

Sounds like albumin fasciitis synbad. And if we do beat a top 4 side, what then? "Not good enough to be in the grand final"? Etc etc Your agenda is so rusted on its a joke

im probably one of a few realists padre...
youre one of the many confused ones.,,,, you are you know???!!!...

we didnt win the game only because we ran....
on that logic we had a 30 point turnaround in one quarter...if we use that logic .. we should have won the game by 120 points... they stopped and as a young side they panicked.

does it mean we can do that often?? no!!!
does it mean we are a top 8 side?... well we made the top 8 .. but it means jack shit!!!... because really were only one of a bunch of teams not really challenging .. and could have finished down as low as 11/12th or so

our main problems ???

no midfield
no leadership
shit list management

need to get those things right before ur any kind of chance...

i just said we might win one next week.. of course we might...!!!... i didnt say we would.. and you wouldnt bet me that we would..

were average!!!...in an average field anything can happen.... were not serious!!!...

but you are serious arent you???

We are average, need to improve what we have over the off season and recruit well.

Next year is hard to evaluate how we go. Could drop lower or could improve, hard to predict.

I think winning a final would be massive for confidence that we are actually getting somewhere.

Rob Warnock's second half was very, very good. His best game for a while. He'll be playing next week.

I was there tonight.

We were deplorable in the first half. Chasing tail and wasting the chances that we had.

We were better in the third but couldn't stem their forward entries and paid dearly. It was building though.

Simply,

WE WERE A DIFFERENT TEAM IN THE SECOND HALF.

The last term destruction was no surprise at all.

We were dynamic, first to the ball and prepare to take risks.

It was a stunning victory.

My passion for the jumper was invigorated.

It is no easy task to go to AAMI Stadium and beat Port in the Prison Bar jumper being 39 points down!

GO BLUES!

Pros:

We won another close game. Doesn't make up for the number of close games we've lost, but at least we've pulled 2 back now.
Second half. Still not entirely sure how we won that game after the first half.
Yarran. He's actually had a pretty good 3 weeks. Looked much more dangerous when put behind the ball. Still can't kick a set shot to save his life at the moment. But he helped turn the game.
2nd half from Murph, Gibbs and Walker.

Cons:

The amount of space opposition teams continue to find in our defence. Not sure if this is part of the long-term teaching process. But it felt like the tactical clueless days of Pagan and Ratts all over again.
Port's incredible kicking for goal.
Our diabolical set shot kicking for goal.

Levi not overly enthusiastic.

I agree. Can understand his disappointment about not being part of it. But needs to be more team first.

the team looks so much better when your better skilled players in Murphy, Gibbs and Yarran play well

relying on plodders to win games doesn't happen too often

might keep you competitive but you want your match winners to get you over the line in big games

I get the feeling both Yarran and Murphy will get some hard tags next week

Really good clutch goals from Curnow (when no one else could get near it from a set shot) and Bell.

More excited about the win than making the finals

Casboult could have been best on ground if he kicked well.

We will always bomb, bomb, bomb, if we don't run, run, run.

Got them on the break ... Duigan's bump/shepherd would have made MM stand up and notice

Murphy's chip, follow up and finish was brilliant.

Hopefully this type of win can add some spark and belief into the playing group.

Nice bookend result.

We won our first game at Football Park (the first non-South Australian side to do so in the AFL), and now we've won the last AFL game at the venue.

Sorry if I'm stealing The Blueseum's thunder.

I never felt like we were out of the game today. We seem to be play much better when chasing the game than we do when leading it. It's as if we need some kind of stimulus - i.e., the feeling that the game is slipping away - to stir us into action. Conversely, we seem a bit unsure of ourselves when ahead comfortably and the game becomes more about management and control. The team plays a lot better when it feels like the shackles are off and there is "nothing to lose".

I have been waiting all season for the boys to show a bit of fight and passion when the chips are down and they waited til the last 30 minutes of the season to do it.

Can't be anything but pleased with the way we destroyed them in that quarter but God knows what they'll serve up next week.

Definitely the first time Murphy and Gibbs have stood up to make the difference this season. Hopefully they will take some confidence in to next week
