Cheers DOA. You going?

Sure Doc, if you wanna catch up pm me.

Our flight gets in around 9am. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and beer suggestions gladly accepted. Is the Wheatsheaf Hotel any good?[/quote]

Wheatsheaf is good but no food. Great selection of beers though.

We're going to get it on. Low expectation, away from nervous home crowd. It's a crazy season and in keeping with it Carlton will get its s?'%t together in the last round. Blues by 32pts.

Apart from last year our record against Port over there is good.

Really confident we will win this one. I'm surprised we are not favourites (though we have come in slightly).

Good players coming back in, less external expectation than usual, more motivation than an opponent that does not have to win and will surely be looking to next week. And we won't kick 9.22 again!

We do have a propensity for self-destruction which we will have to overcome, but the signs point to a favourable outcome for us here.

We travel well generally. I think we're a chance, which means I'll get excited or shattered by the end of the day.

I think we will win and by about 6-7 goals.

They have a few out and being a young side will have an eye on next week.

We have to win and I believe MM might release us a bit. Gibbs in the middle etc. Curnow the only tagger on Boak who he did a great job on last time.

Kruezer & Walker will make a difference.

We don't deserve to play finals so I'm finding it really hard to care about this one.

I was too but at the end of the day if we can get a finals berth so be it, most likely it may be for one game only but it will be played in Melb on the MCG in front of a big crowd

Good sides get continuity with finals exposure, if we were to last only 1 week that's an extra finals game experience for the playing group and that will mean that we have played finals 4 of the last 5 years

I want to get as far as possible, but admittedly I wouldn't lose sleep if we don't. The plus for me is that the younger guys would get exposed to finals football, and for the senior guys it would serve as a stark reminder of what they need to bring more consistently.

That said, not making it would send a message too, that maybe these guys aren't as shit-hot as they think they are and they've got to work VERY hard to get to the top. Watching the Hawks/Swans last night showed the gulf.

I'm a bit the same with our list and the cloud over the season caused by Essendon*. I can't wait for the year to be over. Hasn't been enjoyable at all.

Having said that I know once the ball has bounced I'll be pushing for a win. Can't help myself.

You know what. If we are the 8th best team at the end of round 23, then we deserve finals.

The Bombers cheated to get to 7th position. The cheating having a direct impact on two of our games.

Quite sad to read but so true. weird couple years in no mans land with at least 8 teams better than us.

We are tragics, and once the ball is bounced...we are goners.

Hope the boys take their 5th and last chance to experience finals, and whatever they hold for us.

Most are backing Port bc of he home ground, the never say die attitude Port have displayed and Carltons inability to rise when it counts.

I can see us winning through my rosé coloured glasses with the inclusion of Kreuzer Walker and Garlett and Ellard gives us a bit of ticker and stops opposition mids talking away the easy ball.

Dunno. Fingers crossed. Hope we win. I just want the boys to show what they can do when they want/do....or they will confirm what we are all suspicious of....they are mentally soft.

Go blues....6 goal win

I still hold hope that we will have a good game today, AAMI Park suits us I believe and the side looks a lot healthier than it did 7 days ago

Big win for a launching pad into the finals
