Tom Elliot is a good guy, however, he's seen in the same light as Craig Willis. He's good as an MC at the functions but before he is taken seriously he needs to step back.

Luke Sayers not a realistic option, not a regular at games due to many other commitments and it is noticed.

Fahour and governance

Who brings the big names to the club, not necessarily a fashionable choice but there's 1 current director who regularly brings big names to Blues games/ functions - it counts and is obvious.

Is that all we have got? Elliott's son, Mathieson's nephew, any relative of the Pratts. It's like some limited, European aristocratic gene pool. Do we have no-one new, no-one without the family born to rule attitude, are we just the plaything of a few idle rich and their sons? How many supporters barrack for Carlton? Any chance there is someone new who can do something. The sins of the father and all that shouldn't be relevant, but I couldn't accept an Elliott in charge. He's a radio prat on 3aw for gods sake. Can we not do better than that? I want an all new ticket with no baggage and some idea about the club and how to run a team in 2014 and beyond. And I couldn't stomach Jack doing the media rounds wen Tom is on the board.

No mucking around. Completely new board with nothing to tie them to the dark days of the recent past (and present).

Well, actually I'm fairly busy at the moment but I am a company director, not connected to any of the CFC mafia (other than the usual TC suspects) and John Elliott is not my father.

I did once have a very minor role in making Maxwell Gratton look stupid but he has to take the major credit for that.

If you insist, I'll give it a crack but I'll expect plenty of Milky Bars in return.

That's only fair.

You get my vote. In fact if the Carlton crew hadn't been cut asunder by the gangland wars I'd have them, at least they'd scare Vlad and the AFL crew. Also, any group taking over needs to have a diversity of skills, enough with the 'businessmen' and lawyers. It is a club that needs to be run on business principles. It was Elliott's business approach that got us in to trouble - committing other peoples money, or non existent money to failed schemes, headhunting experienced players for a quick fix instead of using the draft, paying slush fund money with such incompetence that we got caught.

We are not a brand, we are a not-for-profit sporting club that needs to generate enough funds and manage them well enough to do really well in a football competition and that gives our shareholders/supporters a rich emotional dividend. We need imagination, intelligence, commitment and understanding. We don't need a bunch of boozy businessmen engaged in a pissing contest which is what has happened over the last 15 years. Elliott versus Smorgon, versus Pratt versus Mathieson, versos Elliott etc. And how's the club going after all that?

I do agree that Sticks has served his time and that the club would benefit if he moved on, but when I saw this pic via twitter a few moments ago I immediately thought of this thread.

Caught tail end of something on ABC radio at the weekend and there was a throw away line about Carlton being 'different' with our chums in key positions and former club great as president. The consensus was the set up was an 'issue' for us.
Sticks will avoid the heat yet again after our flukey finals run and get to wave his dick around during the 150th, telling fans we'll be alright cos we got us Daisy and Mick's mate from da poise.

I reckon our 150th couldn't come at a worse time. If it means that clown stats at the top.

Should have bolded the last letter as the "I" and not the "Y" so to read INRI

All we'd then need is a cross and some rusty nails and we could get things rolling along nicely.
