We are always focussing on shutting down match winners rather than having our own players doing some damage

We don't have any match winners in 2013 :-)

That’s right, they are all assigned defensive roles or in the forward line awaiting the taggers to win the ball and send it down there. :screwy:

As other mentioned, I'd rather them learn the defensive mechanisms this year and emerge next year more rounded.

Well rounded would be defending the whole ground not just one boundary and leaving the corridor and other wing open to be spread open like butter.

How’s that a defensive game.

It's been the kind of season where we'll win the next four in a row and be like ... "where did that come from?"

Agro,

We spent 5 years ignoring team defense and running forward of the ball. This idea that "Carlton is too defensive" and Malthouse is negative is a load of crock. Our players need to learn to defense first like Collingwood, Geelong, Sydney and Fremantle

You dont teach players defence by playing taggers to cover for them.

I'm sure Mick is a very good coach but the propensity to make up shit to cover every move he makes is farcical. You know what MJ, Mick might just get things wrong occasionally, just like everyone else.

We might if we keep playing like the last two weeks.
Less tagging, using the corridor more frequently, better spread and going deeper into the forward line has made a bit of a difference,
or does everyone think it's just a coincidence.

What price would you get for that happening?

If we lose to Port it would be ironic if we made the finals with the assistance of our 2 arch enemies (Essendon* and Collingwood)

I've seen the weather forecast and there was no mention of hell freezing over on the weekend.

Andy McKay said the opportunity has really lifted enthusiasm around the club and playing group.

That's a killer blow if ever I heard one.

That is the footy equivalent of the fringe character in a war movie (normally called Kowalski) that receives a letter from his sweetheart full of hope the night before the big battle! You know for sure he is getting topped in the morning!
