this club has been in decline from probably 1990 and has never recovered.
Sure we won a flag on the back of form 4 picks from the mid 1980s .. and topped up with guys like G Wiliams.. who we poached .. after getting rid of him in the first place....

I said it then and I say it now it was the wrong message to send to the playing group it said that winning doesn't matter - Even now people are suggesting we should have shut up shop and rebuild the list
The coach is even saying he has to go to the draft indicating that it doesn't really matter what the results are
to be successful you need a must win at all cost culture we still don't have it because the people around the club feel that its ok to lose because your draft picks become better - so do supporters
Well what have all those early draft picks achieved - zilch
you ask what winning those extra few games could of got us

Pendlebury instead of Kennedy
Selwood instead of Gibbs
Cotchin instead of Kruezer
Tippett instead of Hampson
tanking proves nothing and improving one place in the draft does nothing
How many games did we tank? We might have only had one of those first two picks if we didn't.
There's no guarantee who we would have taken if circumstances were different but we could have selected Pendlebury
Kennedy if we had the guts to go against the 'safe' option.
